Last week was the Lincoln County Fair. We went down on Thursday for the parade and festivities. The kids had a great time, we love our little fair! We actually made the parade before it started, thank goodness it usually starts late!Ash getting her stash of candy, there was not much candy, it was just right! We could eat it all in one night and not have to have it lingering around the house for weeks.
Claire Bear had a few in her bucket too!
And of course the rides, we did just a few, these rides are a bit scary for me, they seem pretty old and rickety, I wasn't to keen on going on any more! The kids didn't mind though and had a great time!

Ashleys "FREE" Dance
Ashley put on a dance the other night for us. It was scheduled for Saturday night but when I walked by the fridge there was a sign posted, "shows off" and next to that said "County Fair July 24-31" I told her we could still do the show, we weren't going to the fair until next week. Next thing I know off is scribbled out and ON is written in its place! Funny girl! We ended up having the dance on Sunday night though and Ryan was gone home teaching, but we had so much fun. REALLY, it was pretty cute! Ashley gets up and announces the free dance after we all paid .75 cents to get in, I said this dance is not free, she said yes it is, you can dance how ever you want, like "free" choice! Smarty Pants! She made over $5.00 on concessions (complete with punch and punch bowl) and admissions,
(she scanned us all in and gave seating arrangements) she sure knows how to throw a party!
Justin break dancing.

It's Rodeo Time!
We went over to the Carey Pioneer Rodeo last weekend. It was the first rodeo we have been to in a while. The sun was just wrong for us to see many events and it didn't make any kids very happy so it really wasn't that great, kind of a bummer! BUT we did still have a good time, once the sun went down! Ashley loves keeping track of all the contestants scores, she is a good little book keeper. Justin ran the bleachers and was just normal wild Justin,
what do you do when you are a four year old boy?!

The SANDBOX!!
We got the sand in for the sandbox! All the kids were too busy playing to look up for a picture apparently! I kept waiting for Ryan to go and dig up some "Idaho" sand, which there really is no such thing come to find out. I called up a sand and gravel company and they sell it real cheap so we ran down and picked up a load. We were happy! The kids really like it.
The only problem with it is it is right next to the fence, which is HOT! The kids have learned about hot fences and so has Bella! Poor dog!

Feeding Calves
I Love working with my kids, I just wish they loved it as much as I do. They do enjoy feeding their calves, it is our favorite time of day, no whining or complaining, they just love to do it and it is SO nice! It was a little cloud covered in the morning, everyone had jackets on, by the time we got in we were sweating though! We have been having beautiful weather!

Justin
I got Justin these really cool shorts, so I thought, He says "Hey Mom, what's wrong with these pants?" I had to explain to him that they are just really long shorts. That doesn't make much sense to this T-shirts and wranglers kind of kid!

Barrell of Monkeys
Claire dug this game out from under my bed. It must have been under there for more than a year, I remember buying it in Cody, Wyoming because it was only a dollar and I thought the kids could play on the way home, and because I LOVED this game as a kid. I don't think we owned it, maybe we did, somehow we played it a lot. The girls loved it, even Claire could play, sort of, we let her cheat and hook the monkeys on with her other hand. {Justin was at work with dad}

Sisters
These two were sharing a lap and a break and having a snack in the shade. They really are fun sisters, {despite the disagreements} they are COMPLETE opposites! It keeps it exciting at our house! Like we need more excitement........ Emma is not injured, we cleaned out he hall closet and she found an old arm brace and wore it around most of the day. Funny girl!

I heard Ryan and Claire talking in the kitchen Sunday morning, then I hear Ryan say, "Claire, I am the Daddy, I can do what I want." Got Bossy Two Year Old?

Lost My Job
And it is not a bad thing! I told Ashley to think of something for breakfast, I came back in the house from moving lawn water and she had it all done! 13 French toast, and 5 eggs, she did great! It was yummy! My big girl is growing up WAY to fast!
Look at that obnoxious little brother!

Scenes From Around The Yard
We have spent this week at home which has been really nice! We have been working in the yard a lot, it needed a lot of work since we were gone for a week. I did come home to some beautiful blooming flowers though.Ryans guys kept them wet for me while we were gone. We have also been working on the fire pit, Ryans guys hauled the rock out and brought in a load of dirt.
Its not fancy, but it should be a little more safe and TOTALLY GREEN! We recycled bricks from the old homestead chimney and fireplace, and a few river rocks, we will see how they work tonight! We have weekly hotdog roasts in the summer, beats cooking in the kitchen if you ask me! Now I have to get some MORE grass planted, I am a mowing machine this summer with all of our new grass!
Also since we have been home the kids got a couple of calves to raise. The kids do surprisingly well at takeing care of them. I do very little to help, its like 4-H only BETTER!
Then there is the pitifull garden. Not much came up, what did is doing good though. We should have a great crop of lettuce and pumpkins, what more do you need??
And the shed door. Finally painted red like the rest of the doors. I wish is was a finished shot of the shed, but Ryan has not had a spare minute yet this summer. I hope next week he will get it done. Oh and Bella is getting big, we went to the swimming hole today and she jumped in over and over and splashed us all. She is a fun pup!

Brothers
Ryan and Aaron were standing out in the field together talking, can you tell who is who? I could have taken another picture just like it with Bobby too. These brothers all look so much a like, but are so different. We are lucky to get to have so much family close.

Tayson Turned Two!
We celebrated Tayson's 2nd birthday Sunday night. He is such a cute little man, he was too busy to want to open presents and he kept saying no when we asked him if it was his birthday, what a silly boy! He is so blond, I just love his hair!
The group picture.

Family Vacation At Lagoon
We got to spend two days at Lagoon this year. One day just isn't quite enough to get to do everything. The kids and I stayed in Utah while Ryan ran home for a day to check things on the farm then he came back to go to Lagoon again. We have a great time at Lagoon. Our kids are just big enough to do most all of the rides, Ashley and Emma are little dare devils, surprisingly. They went on all of the BIGGEST rides multiple times with Ryan. Justin and Claire did every ride in kiddie land over and over. I liked the kiddie rides better myself. I did go on the super roller coaster Colossus and went upside down twice in a row. I have never been so scared I was unable to scream before until I went on that ride! I was scared, luckily it is really short! I spent the rest of the time on the lady bug drop and the little swings, more my style! The whole group after rattle snake rapids, we were soaked!
This was the beginning of day 2 at Lagoon. Claire fell running into Lagoon (both days) the second time she hit her forehead too, she re-cracked open her knees and we had blood on us the rest of the day! Poor clumsy girl!Ash and Brooke in matching outfits, Ashley fell camping and then again when she crashed on her bike so she made me wrap her leg up, it really helped actually I was worried I was going to have to carry her around Lagoon all day!
Braden and Justin. These two are good friends, there are two other cousins (Kaden and Jerick) about this same age too, they skidded their tires so much that they wore the tread off of the back tire! We tried to warn them but skidding tires is what boys do!
