Rett and I have been missing summer. It just left so quick, we usually have a few unusually warm days in the fall, but not this year.
I definitely don’t want to go back to summer because that would mean having to start harvest all over again, and I don’t want that! It would just be nice to have a warm day or too. We will continue to just pretend swimming for now!
Another lightning fire burned up the desert between Richfield and Dietrich. We were glad they got it put out fast. We saw tiny smoke, and ten minutes later it was HUGE smoke. It is so dry out there.
Much to our dismay we drove to Washington! We thought we were going to be done with that drive for a while, but not so. We were happy to get to go though. It will always be home. We had lots of new cousins to meet and play and swim and have lots of fun!
These little boys were dunking their heads in the buckets, they were so funny. (Rett and Brad’s twins)
The weather was fantastic the first day. Perfect for soaking yourself!
Michelle’s little girls were darling, just like their mommy. They wanted their pictures taken too. I was happy to oblige!
Rett couldn’t get enough of the water.
Bode brought every motorcycle he owns and shared with everyone. Justin and Kurt took a few rides around out at the pool.
I just love the landscape and scenery. Who would have thought you could miss a hay shed?
Emma could not resist Greg’s new born BIG baby. I couldn’t resist him either. He was so snuggly and cute!
Rett found Aunt Tricia’s car door opened and helped himself in.
I didn’t get any pictures of Justin he was pretty much MIA. We all had a great time and cant wait to get together with cousins again soon!
The first story time of the summer involved some heavy equipment. Rett was in heaven! He climbed all over the loader and backhoe.
Lots of other kids caught on quickly too and wanted in!

We had quite a few dry lightning storms this summer.
This one had been burning for a few days South of Richfield. It was getting close to town so Ryan and I went out to see it.
We left the kids home. Another storm was just coming in with more lightning. Ashley was pretty nervous at home so she said a prayer that it would rain and the fires would go out. She called me to tell me what she had done. She heard something outside and went to look and it was pouring rain. She was so happy her prayer was answered, and quickly! We literally watched the fire go out with the little cloud burst and down pour. Im so glad Ashley has such faith! We learned again that prayer works!
Ashley and Emma finally learned to move the pipe by themselves. I think it may have to do with $$$. Whatever works! I don’t know many 12 and 10 year old girls who move pipe I think it’s pretty cool!
Justin just caused too much conflict out “helping” them so he and Claire got some good jobs done around the house when the girls would go out to move pipe. I can never have my walls and baseboards too squeaky clean!!
I love all of the summer time work!
We finally had a good day to play with our neighbor cousins. The weather has been sunny and warm, perfect for sliding!
Summer can you stay all year??
We have been going and going, we aren’t going to let one summery day by with out living it to the fullest!
Ashley and I got home from Yellowstone a few weeks ago, we had a blast! I cant wait to go again with Emma, and then Justin, Claire, and then Rett! It is a fantastic trip I’m glad our sixth grade teacher is willing to put it on for us!
Since then we have been enjoying our good weather. I hope it sticks around! The kids have already been sleeping outside. We have been keeping the pipe moved and Ryan brought some cows over to munch it down. They were getting a little to close to the sandbox for Rett! The boys are in the sandbox from morning till night….. even after jammie time!
Ash has been busy with cheer, she has spent some time this week at a stunt camp. It has been quite awesome, and eye opening for me. (and her)
We have also been running the girls to piano, and the boys went to story hour. Rett LOVED the theme this time!
Ryan has been around lately, which we love, we went out twice in one week! It was great! We went down to Western Days in Twin Falls and ran into this big fella.
We are so glad summer is here. I would like to catch up the blog, but not sure its going to happen, maybe if it rains….. But for now we are off to the pool!
Justin’s fun teacher made up a theme for each day the last few days of school. This was dodge ball day and you had to wear a funny outfit or costume. This was as funny as Justin would get, and most of it didn’t actually make it to school, he got too embarrassed to dress up.
Emma spent the last two days of school sick, we got the sickness at our house. Rett got it, then me, Ash, and lastly Emma. She couldn’t believe anyone would have to miss the last day of school! She perked up and I took her in for the last afternoon.
We are so happy to be out of school for the SUMMER!!!
