While we were out in West Jordan we had to swing by Grandma Jones’ old house. It is on 90th South and is the only house left for miles (it’s a main road through town and has a tire store on one side, Home Depot behind and a KFC on the other side). Anyway it is getting pretty run down and just a matter of time before it is no longer standing I’m sure. The property is actually for sale now. Ryan has lots of fond memories of Grandma Jones house!

Oquirrh Mountain Temple
Our third temple stop was just up the mountain from the Jordan River temple. It looks a lot like Twin Falls temple only bigger. I love that Day Break neighborhood it is so darling. Aunt Nomi lives up there in a cute little house.

Brigham City Temple
We noticed a change in the scenery as we traveled down the freeway and had to get off to see the new temple. It is still under construction, but it is getting close to being done. It is a gorgeous temple in Brigham City, I’m not sure if that is what it is called, but it is right in down town Brigham.

Hogle Zoo
While we were in Salt Lake we decided to go to the zoo. It was a great time to go, there were hardly any other people there. The Elephants were for sure one of the highlights!
This one was a baby, it chased a chicken around its pen until the chicken finally got out.
This turtle was HUGE!
Even Rett enjoyed the zoo!

More of the Zoo
I think the Giraffes were my favorite, You cant go wrong with that print!
We always have to measure with the gorillas.
They have a fun playground too. I have a picture of Ash and Emma in this same egg when Ashley was about Claires age. We haven’t been to the zoo in a few years!
This was awesome, you could go in a little underground tunnel (and see animals that live underground) but also stick your head up in a cage with a porcupine! Good thing he was napping, that could be kind of creepy having your nose inches away from a porcupine!
It was 50 degrees, the kids didn’t complain or cry one time. Rett was excellent, I asked Ryan if these were our kids?? It was a really fun day.

Jordan River Temple
The second stop on our “temple trip” was the Jordan River Temple. It looks a lot like Seattle Temple.

Temple Trip
For Christmas Grandma and Papa Telford got the kids temple books. They are supposed to take pictures in front of every temple they go to and then put it in their books. We were in the Salt Lake Valley so we hit 4 temples in two days! The kids are excited to fill their books! We first went to the Salt Lake Temple.

Temple Square
Ryan and I have been wanting to take the kids to Temple Square for a while and we finally just took a day and did it. We had a great time. Our kids were excellent and never complained of getting tired or anything. We kept wondering if they were really ours! The weather was warm (for December anyway) and we got there early enough to see the conference center, the Beehive House, the tabernacle, and a couple of other sites and the all the lights also. It was great, the Beehive house was by far the favorite!
In front of the Conference Center:
A skylight in the Conference Center;
They didn’t have the pulpit set up because they had been using the stage area for concerts. It was so huge, the kids liked it a lot.
There was an awesome life size Nativity. It looked so real!
The Tabernacle, Ashley loved the organ and the pipes.
After we saw the lights we went back to our hotel and the kids swam and swam. It was a fun night for us.

Telford Family Christmas
After most of the cousins got here we had our Christmas party on Tuesday. We went over to Hagerman to the hot springs to go swimming. It was a lot of fun. Rett had his first time swimming and he splashed a lot and had a great time. Why cant all swimming pools be that warm! It was great!
The kids played pick up sticks while we were getting ready for lunch. Ashley, Brooke, Emma, and Claire. (Cody and Whitney in the background)
Then we went back to grandma’s for some Christmas dinner. Check out all of those cousins! They did a cute play and Kegan announced it as the 23 cousins annual play. It is fun to have so many friends the same age.
Jaci, Emma, Sydney, Brooke, and Megan.
Alaina, Jessie, Kaylee, Corry, and Koby (or vise versa, I still cant keep those twins straight!)
Alaina and Jessie
Justin and Kaden
Tayson and Kaleb
Ashley and Claire
We had our gift exchange Bobby and Sara got us equipped with roasting sticks in a cute bag and smores makings. I think we need to go out and have a fire since there isn't any snow!
