County Fair! Yahoo!

We always love going to the county fair every summer, this year was the same! We went to the parade first....
this is Claire's funny face, she was excited about all of the sirens, and big trucks and horses, she makes some of the funniest expressions!

I had to take one of Emma being selective with her candy choices. I told them on the way there that they could only have four pieces of candy, NO MORE, I am sick of parade candy! Emma wouldn't pick up just any old candy, she was trying to get only the BEST because she could only have four....do you really think I stuck to my guns on this one.....not a chance, we ended up with a Target sack FULL of parade candy, to go along with the other two we already have at home, oh well.Couldn't be more happy!

Ashley catching a few.
What few cousins I could get to pose, Megan, Alaina, Emma, Justin (Kegan in the back)

Then on to the most ridiculously priced rides, we had to mortgage the farm to go on only two, we spent $36 for two rides! TERRIBLE! We better start saving now for next years carnival!
Justin riding the motorcycles, he thought he was pretty hot stuff!
Sorry Claire, I am not going to spend 6 dollars on a ride that you would probably fall off of and break your arm, poor baby!

The dragon roller coaster, Alaina got to run around with us at the fair while Grandpa was at the rodeo, it was fun to ride with cousins!

Making music, there was a fun old man there playing music and he let the kids get an instrument out of his suitcase and play along, they loved it!
Shaka, shake!Claire studying her maraca!
Emma and Alaina, they took this music playing very serious! We had a great time at the fair. Ryan and I went another night alone to the rodeo, which was fun. I love the fair, it is just another reason to love summer!

Our first Harvest!

We harvested our Oat field last week. It was a good crop, Ryan has once again showed excellent farming skills! He was frustrated because he had to drive so slow because the crop was so thick and good, (he does NOT drive the swather, or anything else for that matter slow!) We thoroughly enjoyed having the swather and baler right in our back yard. We just walked back and forth from the field to the house for rides, this is how farming should be, We LOVED it!

Cleaning up.....

It has to get worse before it can get better....right? Ryan got started into some MAJOR demolition today on the old homestead, I really am excited, just nervous about getting this mess out of my yard as soon as possible! It is a HUGE pile of rubbish now....but soon to be the Telford childrens' playground of dreams....we hope!

Claire with staight hair?

Claire's hair was flat and not SO curly this morning so I thought I would try and straighten it for fun. She looks to much like a grown up, I think we will be sticking to the curls for now. She also grabbed the curling iron and burned two fingers, the reason for the tears. The kids were shocked with her hair even Justin, too funny!

Claire fixing her own dinner

Are you kidding me Claire Bear.....

Now that is more like it!

Grandma's Play Day

Alaina got to come to Grandma Telfords for a few days so Grandma put together a play day with cousins at out house! We played on the slip n slide and did a little swimming. Grandma brought Popsicles and the moms and grandma had a fun time visiting. Fun summer days!Emma, Claire, Ashley Justin, Alaina, Jaci

Justin showing the water on his face!

Emms

Justin and Jaci got mud all over, it was quite cute to here their laughing, they had it flipped on their faces and backs, and all over their legs and hands, so much fun!
Jaci with water on her face! So fun!

The next morning

The kids this morning: This is the side effect of swimming all day long, super tired children! I love it! They all went to bed easily and early, and didn't want to get up in the morning, (not as fun, but still OK) Good thing we can have some lazy days of summer!

Swimming

We went swimming yesterday again, maybe Justin's prayers are being answered??? We went down to have a picnic and then swim. I met my visiting teacher and her kids down there, what a fun way to visit, I thought so anyway! The kids enjoyed themselves and so did I, it was a nice day, windy, but still warm. Emma, "these goggles are SO COOL Mom!"

I also took my first ever water aerobics class, it was AWESOME! I don't know which part was better, not having to keep any kids from drowning, or the great workout? It was a win, win situation! I have not "swam" in over 8 years, and I love swimming, it is so fun, I felt like a kid again! I cant wait for the next class!

Is he dead?

Jack was laying in this most funny position, I wondered if he was dead..... Nope, just enjoying a shady nap, funny dog!

Moving cows and Swimming!

On Friday we moved the cows off of the desert and up to Richfield. The men always enjoy a chance to ride the horses. It was a SUPER hot day, 100 degrees! These are the cows all gathered up ready to be loaded on semis:Claire, Emma, and Justin, enjoying what little shade we had and a root beer! Justin is pouting, I cant remember why, something important, no doubt.

We made a deal with Ryan that we would help with cows if he would take us swimming and he did! Justin swimming with noodles, this is HUGE for him, he is one of my not so brave swimmers.

Emma is getting much more brave, we are signed up for swim lessons next week, I am excited to see how she does.

Ryan and Claire. She LOVES the water, and is not scared at all, which is NOT good, she tried to get in the pool by herself a couple times, luckily Emma caught her when she got in, I dont know which is better, to be scared to death, or have no fear at all?????

Jaci and Ashley with her head under water, she is a brave one too, I think it is Ok for an 8 year old to be brave in the water though. We had fun with cousins all day long.

Fishing at Magic

Ryan took us fishing at Magic again this summer. It was so much more full with all of the rain we got in June. We couldn't make it out to our "spot" It was totally under water, which is good. Needles to say we caught nothing, but still had fun!

Tayson, Bob and Sara's family came with us too, I guess Bob did catch one little fish, but that was it!
