Sunday Shots

Emma was in charge of Sunday dinner.  Her chicken turned out beautiful and delish!  She did a pretty good job!  I have figured out if we are going to be on time then the girls are going to have to do some of the things I have always just done on Sunday mornings like, get the dinner in the oven.  Plus they are learning how to make a nice meal.  They both really like to do it, that could be because the other one has to do pick up or dishes!

We had Ward Conference, it was nice to have the Stake leaders there.  The talks and lessons were great.  Rett and I wrestled pretty hard through Sacrament meeting, but we didn’t have to leave, I wouldn’t really call it a success though….  He is a wild child!

Late Christmas Present

Justin begged for a dirt bike for Christmas, I finally sat down with him and told him it was not going to happen.  Ryan will not buy something for one kid, if its for the whole family that is different.  Anyway Justin and I decided he would save up his money like Emma did for her kindle and before he knows it he will have enough for a dirt bike.  He cried, and when he sat on Santa’s lap he said he didn’t want anything for Christmas.  Poor kid!  Well while we were in Pocatello Ryan goes to potato school and they have an auction afterward and I guess Ryan couldn’t resist this cute little dirt bike and he bought it.  Without any of us knowing.  Needless to say we have one REALLY happy boy (and sisters).

Ashley will not ride it, she crashed Bode’s into Jays pond and refuses to ride, hopefully she will get over her fear soon.  Not that she could have a turn anyway!

Ag Show Pocatello

We really like walking around at the Ag show.  The kids love the big tractors, and Holt Arena.  Ashley took some pictures way up at the top!

IMG_1213IMG_1212IMG_1211IMG_1209IMG_1205Pretty big “tractor show”  that’s what we call it!  We had a great little trip, cant wait to do it again next year!

Pocatello Winter Trip

The kids LOVE going to Pocatello every winter.  We tried really hard to not go this year and they were NOT going to have that!  We luckily could still get a room at our favorite hotel.  The kids swim and swim, Ryan brings pizza and we go to the Ag show at ISU.  It is a fun little tradition.  We even get cousins to go with us sometimes!

The girls are great help with all the little kids.  I didn’t even have to get in the frigid water!  We love this tradition!

Sleeping Beauty

Claire’s stuffy was her BEST Christmas present.  She stuffs it full almost every day and sleeps with it every night!

Home Made Basketball Court

We are enjoying our cement and basketball hoop, and no snow….  I wish we could enjoy the no snow.  I have lived here for 14 years and never had no snow.  It really sad, and scary.  We are supposed to have a storm this week, I hope it snows a LOT!

Anyway the kids have been shooting hoops as much as they can.  It’s been fun.

Claire doesn’t even have her coat on!  It has been upper 40’s????

Justin’s Award

Justin got this “always being safe” award at school.  He pretty much is always safe.  He is just that way, he wasn’t when he was little, but its nice when he is taking care of his wild little brother.  Just last night he gabbed Rett before he stuck his hand up on the stove.  Feewwww, Justin to the rescue!

He has quite the grin these days!

Emma’s Basketball Season

Emma started her season, much to her dismay.  She does not want to play and her mother cant understand why?  I cant believe that she doesn’t LOVE basketball!  She keeps making deals with me like, if I can put a password on my kindle then I will play.  I say DONE!  She is a funny kid.

100_2247

She looks like a giant because she is….  she only had her and her BFF who wanted to play out of the 5th and 6th grade girls so they have to play on the 3rd and 4th grade teams.  Its funny when she looks out at the other teams players and says wow, they are tall!  I just tell her Emma, you are much taller then all of them, don’t worry about it!

She shot three times at he last game but didn’t make any, maybe this week?  Meanwhile I keep hoping she will change her mind and start to love this game!

How Do You Like Your Salad?

I asked Ashley to make a green salad to go with our dinner.  She got one big leaf off the outside of the lettuce and was cutting it up.  I asked if that is all the salad she is going to make.  She is explaining it to me as I am laughing at her idea of a “salad”

IMG_1192

This is how I do it mom,

IMG_1191

Besides, you are the only one who is going to eat it.

IMG_1190IMG_1189

She is an ALL KNOWING teenager!  She did add another layer of lettuce to it and put it in a cereal bowl and on the table it went…..yum!?  What a girl!

HOME!

We were glad to be home from our trip to San Antonio.  We spent HOURS in the airport on the way home.  It was quite torturous!  After we recouped for a few days we were happy to be home doing laundry and playing.  All the good things!

IMG_1176IMG_1175IMG_1174

I don’t know how many times the kids told me I was a good track builder.  It was pretty cute!

Touring The City

We pretty much covered all the ground we could and saw everything we could with in walking distance on Friday.  We watched the Alamo and went on the tour of it, we saw all of the historical sites we could.  The weather warmed up and it was nice to walk around.  It was a good day.IMG_1149

Remember the ALAMO!

This was a cool church, they wanted to tear it down to build the mall, the owner wouldn’t sell so the mall went up around it!  I was glad they left it standing.

Lunch on the river.

IMG_1164

We were sad to see the day and trip end.  It was nice to be together for a few days alone.  I liked SA quite a bit!  We were there in the slow season, and during the week, two things that are a must for visiting there!

Day 2 San Antonio

We spent most of the day in meetings and then took a boat ride on the river.  It is THE THING to do when you go to San Antonio.  Everyone who had been there before told us to do it.  The whole down town area is on top of it, so we really couldn’t avoid it if we tried.  It was fun to walk along every day, we enjoyed it.

This was the tunnel where we got on our little boat.

We spent the rest of the night at the party from our meetings.  They had an extremely loud band and too many people for the small space, but the food was good, once we got some….  We were happy to have it end! HA!

San Antonio

Ryan and I and some of the other farm families went to Texas for potato meetings and a little vaca time!  We went right to meetings because we were late getting there.  We ate dinner in the Tower of Americas.  It was like the space needle, we ate at the very top and had great views of the city.

IMG_1144IMG_1143

I loved the city.  It was like a movie, romantic, quiet, really lovely.  (this was all before the weekend and all the people moved in!!)

Texas Trip

Ryan and I were on our way to San Antonio and our flight was delayed leaving Boise.  This made us miss our connector in Las Vegas.  We knew we would miss it, but we went anyway so we could spend a night in Vegas.  It was quick, but fun.  We ate the big seafood buffet at Mandalay Bay, it didn’t disappoint!

IMG_1128

It was a good time to be there, it was quite DEAD, Ryan was running in this never ending hall and sliding.  He thought he was a boy again!

We have never been to circus circus so we drove down to it and spent the rest of the night there watching the acrobat shows and walking around.  Justin loves these claw games and we found a HUGE one!

IMG_1140

We also drove down the strip and checked out all the lights!

IMG_1139IMG_1134IMG_1133IMG_1127

The next morning we flew out, it was clear and we could see Hoover dam and the lake.  It was a pretty flight.

We finally made it to Texas!
