Dinner Cruise

We got a big group of friends together and went down to Hagerman for a dinner cruise on the Snake River.  We had a great time!  The weather was warm and the scenery and company were the best!

CSI Rodeo

Ryan and I try to make a date of the CSI rodeo.  It was the first time I met his family when we came down from college for his rodeo at CSI.  I guess it’s a sort of anniversary for us.  You cant beat the CSI rodeo though.  The same man who puts on most of the NFR is the rodeo coach and so he knows how to make it happen!  This was the opening ceremonies, they put kerosene down in the shape of CSI and then lit it on fire!  Really cool.  We had a great night together.

Touring The City

We pretty much covered all the ground we could and saw everything we could with in walking distance on Friday.  We watched the Alamo and went on the tour of it, we saw all of the historical sites we could.  The weather warmed up and it was nice to walk around.  It was a good day.IMG_1149

Remember the ALAMO!

This was a cool church, they wanted to tear it down to build the mall, the owner wouldn’t sell so the mall went up around it!  I was glad they left it standing.

We were sad to see the day and trip end.  It was nice to be together for a few days alone.  I liked SA quite a bit!  We were there in the slow season, and during the week, two things that are a must for visiting there!

Day 2 San Antonio

We spent most of the day in meetings and then took a boat ride on the river.  It is THE THING to do when you go to San Antonio.  Everyone who had been there before told us to do it.  The whole down town area is on top of it, so we really couldn’t avoid it if we tried.  It was fun to walk along every day, we enjoyed it.

This was the tunnel where we got on our little boat.

We spent the rest of the night at the party from our meetings.  They had an extremely loud band and too many people for the small space, but the food was good, once we got some….  We were happy to have it end! HA!

San Antonio

Ryan and I and some of the other farm families went to Texas for potato meetings and a little vaca time!  We went right to meetings because we were late getting there.  We ate dinner in the Tower of Americas.  It was like the space needle, we ate at the very top and had great views of the city.

IMG_1144IMG_1143

I loved the city.  It was like a movie, romantic, quiet, really lovely.  (this was all before the weekend and all the people moved in!!)

Texas Trip

Ryan and I were on our way to San Antonio and our flight was delayed leaving Boise.  This made us miss our connector in Las Vegas.  We knew we would miss it, but we went anyway so we could spend a night in Vegas.  It was quick, but fun.  We ate the big seafood buffet at Mandalay Bay, it didn’t disappoint!

It was a good time to be there, it was quite DEAD, Ryan was running in this never ending hall and sliding.  He thought he was a boy again!

We have never been to circus circus so we drove down to it and spent the rest of the night there watching the acrobat shows and walking around.  Justin loves these claw games and we found a HUGE one!

IMG_1140

We also drove down the strip and checked out all the lights!

IMG_1139IMG_1134IMG_1133IMG_1127

The next morning we flew out, it was clear and we could see Hoover dam and the lake.  It was a pretty flight.

Lunch Date

If Ryan goes to town with me then he gets to pick where we eat which means 5 guys…..  I think it’s a greasy place for 5 guys to eat, not a wife and kids,  this time it wasn’t TOO bad.  Rett liked it!

Trick or Treating

It was freezing on Halloween of course, that is always kind of a downer to wear a coat on top of your costume, but I guess that’s just how its done in Idaho!

We got to bring Jace and Conor along, their parents were out of town.

IMG_0866

No Rett you say, he fell asleep before we even got to the first house.  He had worked with Ryan earlier while I was at the school and missed his nap.  The mexicans were sure worried about his face.  I had put some “dirt and grease” on him and they thought he was pretty beat up!  Ryan couldn’t explain to them (in his farm spanish) that it was makeup and they just kept asking over and over about the babies face!

IMG_0863

We drove, Ryan wouldn’t let me get out at every house, I guess my kids are getting big enough to take themselves…..

IMG_0870

Ryan’s eyeball is falling out!!!

IMG_0867

The kids love trading and separating and even included weighing their candy this year.  Funny kids.

IMG_0874

Each one got about 6 pounds of candy, yikes!

Happy Halloween!

Last Night of Beet Digging

I ran down to ride with Ryan one last time.  We had 24 rows left to dig when we ran out of time for the night.  I left the kids home and drove down by myself.  It was kind of fun, the diggers were rolling so fast, it was fantastic!

Happy of end of harvest!

Ski Trip To Soldier

The School kids had the annual ski trip.  We went up to Fairfield to Soldier Mountain.  I was worried there wasn’t going to be any snow, there was a little.  We could see patches of grass up on top though.  We need more snow!  Ryan has his Canal board meeting so he had to drive up and meet us.  I was nervous to be trying to help the girls when I can barely ski myself.  They had instructions (Emma had it all morning) and then we tore up the bunny hill all day long!  It was great!

It didn’t take Ash long to remember how to do it, we had a pretty good instructor, but she still didn’t want to go up the mountain.  I was happy to not let her go up the mountain, I am still not very comfortable with it myself!  So we went down the bunny hill over,

and over,

and over!

Emma pretty much only had one speed, straight down fast!  Serena is following right behind!

The weather was so warm!  It made the snow slushy and slow, which I liked!  We are a little sunburned and sore, but ready to go back tomorrow!

Spokane Trip

Ryan and I just got back from our annual Spokane trip.  As un exciting as that sounds, it really is the hi light of the winter for us.  This year was no exception.  We took the kids to Mom and then flew out of Boise.  The first two days Ryan had Farm Credit meetings, which he really likes, this year they were really good.  I spent my days shopping!  There are 3 malls in Spokane and I was able to hit them all!  I shopped til I dropped, I had to even buy a new pair of shoes to keep up with all of my walking!  We stayed an extra day just to play.  We went to a hockey game which was fun, we hadn’t ever been to one before.  I got a puck!

The next morning Ryan wanted to go shooting, so we found an indoor range and shot till his heart was content.  I shot a few too, (as many as I could stand to)

Ryan has been shopping for a new handgun for quite a while so he thought he should try them out before he buys one.  We also did a little more shopping, eating, and even bowling.  We were the only ones under 70 at the bowling alley!  It was funny!  We spent the last evening at the Broadway Show Rock of Ages.  It was a little much for our taste, but the music was great!  We flew back to Boise Friday morning.  Mom and Dad met us with the kids.  Mom survived them for the week.  They had a great time and didn’t want to come home.

We had a great trip, we always sleep so good in those Davenport beds and love getting treated like kings!  It was fantastic!

Famous Idaho Potato Bowl

Ryan got tickets to go to the Potato Bowl on Saturday.  It was a last minute quick trip, but really fun.  I was quite disappointed when I realized BSU wasn’t playing in it… I don’t keep up on football much, well on any sports much (besides Jr. high girls basketball)  It was a great time, once my eyes could adjust to that bright blue turf.  That was blinding!

100_0782

We saw the Spuddy Buddy.

100_0784

The game was Utah State vs. Toledo Rockets.  It was fun to cheer for Utah.

100_0785

Toledo had an awesome marching band, so did Utah, Toledo’s was world famous though and you could tell!

100_0786

Half time performances!

100_0787

It was a little long and a little cold…  This helped a little bit though;

100_0789

My favorite was watching the coaches give the signals, these three guys were doing “dance routines” all night long.  It was amazing.  They would even be in sync with each other waving and dancing around.  I would easily get distracted watching them!

100_0791

It was fun to spend the day with Jared and Jenna.

100_0792

I guess this is our anniversary date because we are going to be too busy next week to go out.  It was really fun though.  We had a great time!
