First Day of School 2015!

The kids are off this morning.  I have to admit, Im not really sad this year.  Not like last at least.  Ryan keeps telling me Im going to be lonely, which I know I will, but for now I will enjoy the relief, and the lack of fighting and nagging and cleaning and feeding….

Rett is going to be really lonely too.  Im already dreading next year though!

Claire is in 2nd with Heather Ross, she is determined to ride her bike to the corner and of course she crashed right out of the driveway and went to the bus crying.  I hope her day goes better, it was a rough start!

Justin is 4th grade with Mrs. Scott.  He is also starting tackle football and is so excited!

Emma is officially Jr. High.  She got contacts last week and can finally put them in somewhat quickly.  I liked the glasses, it covered up all the makeup!  She is getting too pretty.

Ashley is off to High school, she is just mellow and doesn’t say much, but reads a LOT!  She is cheering and I just realized that means we have to go to all the games now.  I hope we don’t freeze during football, and that the little boys will cooperate!

The dog was so funny, he was in almost every picture and just sat and looked right at me, like he knows the drill!

Last Day Of School 2014-2015

The kids finished up school for the year!  Claire was in 1st Grade with Heidi, Justin in 3rd with Mrs. Ross, Emma in sixth with Mrs. J, and Ashley finished her last year of Jr. High!

The kids participated in the spring play again this year.  I always forget what a crazy busy week it is, but its so fun for the kids that we endure it anyway!  Ashley was the cutests camper!  She was the spoiled girl, (which is totally not her normal personality) but she played it so well, I was impressed!  She really looked pretty with all that makeup caked on, but Im not telling her that!

Justin and Claire were Wally birds?  The littles are always cute, Im glad Justin didn’t mind being a little one more time!

President's Day

Since we only have a four day  week we go to school on most holidays.  In Justin’s class they talked about Abraham Lincoln and created a top hat like his.  Jaci happened to ride the bus to our house that day.

Justin’s Award

Justin got this “always being safe” award at school.  He pretty much is always safe.  He is just that way, he wasn’t when he was little, but its nice when he is taking care of his wild little brother.  Just last night he gabbed Rett before he stuck his hand up on the stove.  Feewwww, Justin to the rescue!

School Christmas Concert

The School concert was as cute as ever.  The kids really like performing and don’t get shy at all.  They did great!  Rett liked the treats and Santa was OK?

Ashley wore this same dress to the Christmas concert a few years ago.  My kids are growing up on me!

Justin’s Show and Tell

Back in the olden days I would have (and did) haul the puppy in to the school.  Im not so nice anymore, Justin had to settle for a picture of himself holding the puppy for show and tell.  He was happy with that.

Halloween School Parties

I got to help in Justin’s class but didn’t take any pictures of him??  All the kids had fun, Emma was a southern belle.

Claire got to have Mrs. Fuchs famous “witches brew”  It is always so cute!

Claire was Draculaura and a little black witch too.  Justin was a ninja second year in a row, and Ashley was some kind of nerdy pre teen? 

I even put on a little make up and went as a scarecrow.  The kinders said I wasn’t scary though?!

Justin’s School Work

Justin has been learning about the clouds, it is pretty fun to be around him outside and have him tell me what kind of clouds are in the sky. 

His parent teacher conference report was great, he is a super math wiz!  Im not surprised, and really glad he takes after his dad in that department!

Show And Tell

Justin’s teacher does show and tell and we love that!  I wish all of the kids could do it, they are always excited and it’s a fun treat.  Im pretty sure he took a potato in last week too, it was a funny shaped one.  This week he took a huge Ranger.

Grandpa says these kind of potatoes could grow legs and walk themselves up into the pile!  Don’t we wish!  Happy Harvest!

Homecoming Week

Rett and I got to judge activities at homecoming week.  It was really not that fun (the chasing of Rett while I tried to carry papers and pencils and make good judgments)  It was a fun week though.  Here are a few highlights

It really was pretty hard to judge, some of those kids really dressed up good!  It made our job really hard!

School Wears Ya Out!

We have really enjoyed our 4 day school week.  I feel like we couldn’t do 5 days.  Everyone is just exhausted by Thursday.

School has been good so far.  Everyone is liking it.  Ashley is a bit overwhelmed and wouldn’t mind going back to elementary school.  Hopefully she will get into the swing of things soon.

Claire seems to have a cute outfit every day!  She just loves pink and picked everything pink to wear to school today!

She is liking Kinder but she would like to stay home with Rett and I.  I guess I am surprised, the other kids never wanted to stay home.  Well Emma has from time to time.  Hopefully she will  start loving school soon!
