Working Mom

Saturday I had to go into Burley to check on apartments.  Ryan couldn’t go so I took my next best man.  (I was having to evict a lady and needed some backup  Justin and I had a good time, the lady of course was not home and not moved out like I had told her to be.  But she did get moved out late Saturday night.  The apartment was a mess, but she is gone!  Thankfully!  My silly assistant;

Sunday morning I was running around like normal, my routine is usually get the kids all ready and then myself.  I was headed into my bathroom, I rounded the corner and kicked the door.  My little pinky toe just popped right out.  It was pretty scary.  Mainly because I did not want to go to the hospital! 

Ashley and the kids took good care of me.  I called Ryan in the middle of his meetings and he ran home (rolling his eyes).  He took one look and then a deep breath and said, “oh.”  I think he thinks I make things out to be worse then they are.  This one wasn’t the case.  He was nervous, I felt better just having him there.  That is until he told me he was going to pull on it and put it back into place.  He gave me a blessing,  I cried and then told him he gets one chance!  He did it!  Thankfully!  It really didn’t hurt much at all, thankfully.  It is still sore today though 2 months later?  I’m glad to have a smarty pants husband and great kids to take care of me!

Sunday Nap

Rett rarely takes a Sunday nap, but I guess he decided to climb in with me and his Dad last week.  Ryan must not have been asleep yet and caught us snoozing!

I can sleep with one ear open, and heard that camera and woke up, Ryan wasn’t happy that I did.  But a girl has to know when her picture is being taken!

CSI Great Pumpkin Race

I wanted to run this race all summer long, but when it got cold I wanted to change my mind!  I went ahead and signed up, but didn’t run like I should have at home and finished how I figured I would finish.  It was a nice day, I have no excuses other than I just didn’t practice enough!  I am happy to hang up my running shoes until next year when the weather is warm!

Cookie Monster

This is the best part about my new oven.  I didn’t know we were missing out on so much having one with out a window and light.  Rett and I are usually both found looking like this;

I really don’t know who enjoys it more, me or him!  To bad those aren’t Grandma’s cookies inside…..  Gluten free pumpkin cookies is more our style lately.  They were still yummy, or we were desperate for a treat!?

Lunch Date

We are loving only going to school for 4 days.  We are so exhausted by the end of Thursday I don’t think we could go another day!  Im sure it has to do with going to school a little extra each day.  I try not to go anywhere on Friday but I had to make a trip to town and Emma always volunteers to go shopping!  She is her mothers daughter!  Ashley is happy to stay home and babysit (occasionally, she likes to shop too)

Homecoming Week

Rett and I got to judge activities at homecoming week.  It was really not that fun (the chasing of Rett while I tried to carry papers and pencils and make good judgments)  It was a fun week though.  Here are a few highlights

It really was pretty hard to judge, some of those kids really dressed up good!  It made our job really hard!

Filer 5K

I ran my second race this summer.  It was a small fund raiser for a children’s hospital.  I was glad to get another chance at it and improved my time by a couple of minutes.  I finished about 6th in the women and had a time of 31.09.  I was really most excited to be able to run the entire race!  Ryan took me down and I knew I couldn’t walk or he would be disappointed so I trudged on!  It felt great…. afterwards!

Ryan was really worried with my take off because I was the LAST person, even behind the walkers.  I don’t know when I passed them all, but I must have somewhere along the coarse because I came in before they all did.  I guess I was just in the zone, that’s one thing I really love about running is it is such and individual thing, it doesn’t matter who you pass or what place I come in, I just want to improve myself.  It’s great!

Atomic Days 5k Run

Paige invited me and our sister in laws to run in a race with her.  So about 6 weeks before the race I started running, and running, and running! The first day I ran I made it and 1/8th of a mile so I had lots of work to do!  I finally ran the whole 3.1 miles a week before the race.  It was cool.  I was happy to get this chance, it was quite and adrenaline rush!

I ended up 3rd in my age group, that was a HUGE surprise, maybe there were only 3 of us in my age group??  I don’t know how many there were, here is my time:

I was 33rd overall, I think there were around 60 runners?  I was really happy with the hole experience anyway!

We had an excellent cheering squad.  Ryan’s parents were there and all of our families were there to cheer us on.  It helped lots!  I cant wait to do another race.  It was such a fun experience!

There Go My Bragging Rights!

I just plucked out my first gray hair.  The next picture is very disturbing….

See told ya.  I found it tonight when I was brushing my teeth poking straight up right on the top of my head.  I was the last of the sisters to get gray’s, I can no longer brag, boo!  I hope they don’t start coming in droves now.  The signs of aging just keep popping up everywhere, and I’m  not even old yet!  Here is to hoping my vision starts going next, then at least I wont have to see myself get old!  Ha!

The Cake

So I HAD to make that Reese's peanut butter chocolate cake that I have seen all over pinterest.  That thing was huge and rich and yummy!  It may take me a month to polish it off though.  (Ryan says peanut butter is for sandwiches, so he is not helping)  It is definitely a cake for a sister retreat, or girls night out. 

I always love our attempts with the timer…  Emma was mad that everyone blew out my candles, well everyone but her.  Happy Birthday to me!

Tiffany & Co

Look what I got!!  REAL Tiffany jewelry!  I am still in shock myself!

I tell you what, there is something to be said about fine jewelry!  Isn’t the box so pretty!

I built some benches for our friends who just moved into their new house and I wanted to do it for a housewarming gift.  She wouldn’t go for that so she gave me this beautiful Infinity necklace from Tiffany’s (did I mention that????)

The only thing I can really compare it too is eating generic corn flakes your whole life and then finally trying the real thing, I can tell I am not going to want to go back to my old ways!  It is so sparkly and pretty!  Thanks Deanna, I love it!

Chopped!

Claire and I went to our favorite hair dresser and got hair cuts. Claire got a nice little trim and I had mine CHOPPED off!  It is so short.  I’m not ready to be this short all the time, I of course am now growing it out…..  Oh the life of a wishy washy woman!  Claire and I attempted to take a picture of ourselves, Claire thought it was pretty funny to see me run,  here are our best tries.

I’m sure I will get used to the short, it will grow back, right?
