Mudroom Flooring

Im loving my mudroom done!  We moved out the freezer so I have lots more room for laundry!  It really has been nice.  Again I forgot to take an after picture….  If it didn’t have mounds of laundry in it I would probably take one!

We had a week of chaos, we had the laundry in the kitchen and no doors on the bathrooms.  We even went half a day with no toilet at all.  That was fun!  The funniest was having the missionaries over.  Elder Kennedy wanted to use the bathroom and I told him we had no doors.  So he had to lock our bedroom door and then go into our bathroom if he wanted any privacy!  Poor guy!  Thankfully Ryan got doors installed after a few late nights.

Bathrooms/mudroom Construction

We finally got our new flooring in for the bathrooms and mudroom, so we went to work.

Both bathrooms got fresh paint, Ryan was so happy to see the kids blue bathroom go, he never liked that blue color!

The new vanities came in:

We hired the flooring installed, it was hard for us to see a crumby job done.  Ryan wished he had time to do it himself.  It turned out fine, Ryan is just a perfectionist and wanted it done perfect, not just fine.  I guess I just wanted it done!

And I never took an after picture of the kids bathroom, maybe because it still isnt finished???  I havent got the lighting and new mirrors in.  We cant seem to ever finish a project!   This is our little bathroom.  We are enjoying it.  I am glad I didn’t put black granite in the kids bathroom though.  It is a pain to keep looking nice.

No more 1970’s vinyl!  Overall we are pleased, not finished, but pleased!

Our Little Farm House

I have a hard time loving our curb appeal, but there is just something about Christmas lights that makes all the ugliness go away and it looks like a warm loving home!  Can we just leave the lights up all year??

Merry Christmas little house!

Off Days

I (WE) LOVE our Fridays off!  It is such a blessing for us!  I have never had much of a hard time sending the kids to school, but this year I have had an eye opener realizing they are all there! (except Rett, thankfully)  I am glad I can have them all home on Fridays to make up for them all leaving me during the week!  We have had a few projects, fun and not fun on our fridays.  This Friday I got some good deep cleaning done in my kitchen.

I got a nice little fence put up for Mack that is attached to the chicken coop (we don’t currently have any chickens so its his dog house) so he can go in and out.  Well it wasn’t two minutes before he dug out of it!

It didn’t work for the puppy but somehow managed to cage a kid??  Justin crawled through the tiny back door (fit for chickens not boys) and couldn’t get back through.  I wasn’t about to cut down my hard work so I made him crawl back through.  Certainly if he could get in, he could get out!

A few scratches and torn shirt, but he is no longer in the chicken coop/dog pen.  Fun adventures at home!

Cookie Monster

This is the best part about my new oven.  I didn’t know we were missing out on so much having one with out a window and light.  Rett and I are usually both found looking like this;

I really don’t know who enjoys it more, me or him!  To bad those aren’t Grandma’s cookies inside…..  Gluten free pumpkin cookies is more our style lately.  They were still yummy, or we were desperate for a treat!?

Demo

Ryan has been dying to tear out our old steps and pour some concrete in our drive way.  He brought the back hoe over and made quick work of it!

Hopefully it wont be long until we get it all put back together, and the kids are looking forward to a basketball court/bike pad!

NEW!

I finally made the trip to Idaho Falls to pick out a bedroom set!  It turned out prettier than it was in the pictures.  I am excited!  We decided to also go back to a queen sized bed too.  For one reason, a king sized bedroom set wasn’t going to fit, and two we just didn’t need the giant bed anymore.

My nightstand piles are now tucked away in drawers, I love it!

Also I forgot to post pictures of my new parsons chairs.

005

We are liking them too.  I cant decide if I should go ahead and get four more and not use the benches anymore at all, or what.  It is nice to use benches when we have company with lots of kids, but the chairs are much nicer for everyday use.  I think I will go ahead and buy four more and just pull out the benches when we need them.

I am afraid Rett is going to have to have a new bed also.  He has been threatening to climb out of the crib and last night he did it and fell on his head.  He isn’t even 2.  2 year olds need to be in cribs.  I don’t know what to do, well I just don’t want to do what I am going to have to do!  I am ready to do some spring cleaning.  I hope I can stay motivated to get it all done!

My New Bedding

I have been wanting to update our bedding and found some that I really liked.  The only problem now is that I have to change the entire bedroom, everything is brown, now I need it to be gray.  I guess I need a new project.

Rett woke up and was looking for Dadda.  He pointed at the pillows, Dadda, Mamma, over and over.

100_0937100_0938

He obviously has spent a few nights in our bed.  I am hoping to get a new bedroom set soon too, I just have to decide what I want.  Erica what is the name of the gray paint you used in your Greybull master bedroom?  Nighty night!

Oh DEAR!

Ryan is at it.  I tried to discourage it, well a little, I want to make some progress on this house too.  The basement wall just wasn’t my fist choice.  Beautiful smoothly textured wall….

100_0903

That is no longer with us.

100_0907

I am happy to be opening it up, it will be so nice when it is finished…..

100_0909

Key word there is FINISHED.

100_0906

Right as he was finishing tearing it out he got the call that we will be shipping potatoes in two days, for the next 6 months.  I haven’t seen him in the daylight since.  YIKES!  I am really nervous as to how long this is going to be torn up.  My poor house!  Hopefully I can find someone who knows how to build walls soon.  Oh dear.

The End of 2012

Mom stayed Monday and helped me get the house back in order.  She and Ash had all the Christmas down in a few minutes.  It was nice to get it cleaned up and the house looking better.

100_0887

Ryan spent a few days close to home and helped me with the annual clean out.  He is NOT a pack rat, and it is nice.  I feel so free of clutter and the house is easier to keep clean.  I am always sad to throw away stuff, the suburban was packed with DI donations.  But I am always glad to have it gone!  What an end to 2012!

It’s A Sign!

Dad and Mom have been at my house!  I got a new faucet installed which I love!

103_1333103_1334

AND, Ashley and Emma finally got new doors, with locks, not sure about the locks part yet.  I went to tuck them in and they both had their doors shut and Emma had locked herself in.  We had to lay down some new rules about doors and when we do and don’t get to lock them, silly!

Pure Joy!

We have had a great job chart since Emma started school (so for like 3 years now) and it has been really great.  The kids have really taken to it and do their “daily jobs” really well.  Well it occurred to me that they were just breezing through these easy jobs, and maybe I could add just a little more to each one.  We just started the new chores this week, I really want them to be the new routine by the time the baby is born.  Saturday morning I had sweet music to my ears when I heard Emma vacuuming and I didn't even tell her to.  It is just part of her job on Saturday morning!  I am so excited!  Emma can VACUUM!!!

These have to be the most beautiful pictures I have ever seen!  Ashley did the stairs after Emma was done!  They aren't even crying!  Yeah for my girls and Justin to be such great help!   I love it!
