I heart basketball

We have been playing basketball on Tuesday mornings just to change up the regular workout routine, it has been good and fun. It is hard to be at the church at 5:30 am, but it is so nice to work out with out the kids. We just go for an hour and then are back to get everyone up and ready for school and work. This morning was fun we actually had enough girls to play full court. There were five of us. We played 2 on 3 and the three of us lost. One of the two played college basketball and is still AMAZING, so it was really no contest. It was a good workout, an excuse to run. I have been eating all of the left overs from the weekend and so I needed a good workout!
We are just staying around home this week. Ashley and Emma are doing the Missoula Children's theater this week and are excited to be in the play. They are doing the little mermaid. Ash and Emma are both dancing seahorses or something like that. They actually had to audition this year, some of the kids didn't make parts, it was so sad, I was not prepared for that so I am glad that both of my girls made it. There were lots of little kids in tears. They rehearse for a week and then perform on Friday. I am excited for them to be able to participate in something other than sports.
We are off to story time in Shoshone this morning, hopefully Ryan will be moving his potato operation down to the cellar here, I am excited for him to be working close to home for a couple of days anyway. He is over a week past his regular sugar beet planting, I don't know when he will finally get in the field and start planting, hopefully soon. I wish the wind would quit blowing and our spring weather would come back, it is so burry cold!

A present from Grandma

Grandma and Papa Nielson came for Ashley's baptism and brought a present for Justin. He is thrilled with his new workin pants just like dads!

Now there are no excuses, I think he is definitely ready now to go to work with dad every day!

Ashley's Baptism

Ashley was baptized Saturday March 28th! She is growing into such a nice young woman. We are so proud of her and her decision to be baptized!

She wasn't even nervous at all, she is so mature and already has a strong testimony of the Gospel.

We are also thankful for a loving daddy who honors his Priesthood and was able to baptize her, what a wonderful experience for them to share together.

I'm not old enough to have an eight year old am I? The only thing that went wrong were things that the Primary President messed up on.....I have so much to learn! I even messed up which kid it was that was being baptized, the program said Emma Elizabeth......maybe I am old enough to have an eight year old, my poor brain!

Look at the family!

Speaking of family, we had so much support from everyone! Thanks so many for coming! There were over 55 people, Ashley has so much support from her family! We had tons of yummy food to eat too!

Aunt Paige, Aunt Jenna and Uncle Jared

Aunt Lain and her twins

I told you the food was yummy, just ask Luke and Lizzie!

More and more cousins!!
What a wonderful weekend, we are so proud of Ashley for making this decision and for being a great example to her family! We love you Ashley!

New Callings at Church

So Sunday was a new day for our family. I was called to be the Primary President, hmmm, interesting. I have never pictured myself as the primary pres. I don't know why, but it is a bit of a shocker too me. I already know what it is going to teach me; PATIENCE. You think that I would be a patient person being a mother of 4 and all, but not so. I have a hard time with a lot of kids, I get all frazzled and stuff. But I am really excited too, I have some good counselors, and lots of good teachers to help out so it will be a fun time. Ryan wishes it was him, but no he keeps chugging along in the Elders Quorum, we found out he is the longest EQ President in the history of our ward, that is what I have heard at least, I find it hard to believe, but it has been over 4 years now, so maybe.... I am excited to jump in and get going though, I don't like the feeling of being unorganized, which is what it is and will be until we get a routine worked out, the old Pres. was a natural, so I hope by the time I am done it will seem as though I am a natural, HA HA, I dont know if that will happen! As for my other calling....I guess I was a one hit wonder, surely I will get another chance at Enrichment later on.
We had lots of rain in the night which was nice but it turned to BIG Idaho snow flakes in the morning, the ground was completely covered...again. The girls and I were sad, but it melted by the afternoon, the worst part is that the puddle is back, and bigger than ever, so much fun! At least it is too cold to go out and play in it this time....I think.
Then we had Sunday dinner with Bobby and Sara. It is a much nicer meal when we do it together, I like it. Ryan made milk shakes with snickers and Reese's and then he went out on splits with the missionaries and came home and made cookies. I guess his sweet tooth is as bad, or good as mine.

Nursery Girl!

Claire went to the nursery for her first time on Sunday, she did EXCELLENT, which is no surprise, she was looking for a little more activity at church then we were willing to give! She is such a BUSY little girl. YEAH for Claire Bear!

Spring Weather

We have finally been enjoying some spring weather, the kids got the bikes out of the shed;

and found a mud puddle to play in, luckily it disappeared after only 3 days!

I didn't want to do a whole bunch of laundry that looked like this;
or this, he jumped right into it and soaked himself, why he is walking so funny. Crazy kid, it was warm, but he didn't last very long in only his underoos!

PG always REQUIRED

This is what happened in my living room a few days ago while I was "blogging and couponing" There was a row and a half of that yummy chocolate cake left. I have got to get my wifi hooked up so I can use the laptop upstairs!!! AGGGHHHHH! Needless to say neither Claire or Justin ate any lunch! Good thing I just got a SWEET deal on 2 bottles of carpet cleaner the day before!

Days full of Living

We have been on the go around here lately, It has been a good busy. Ryan had an Elders Quorum party on Friday night, we had tacos and played around the world (ping pong) and had a Foosball tournament. Both Telford Family favorites. It was fun but I was sorely disappointed that we didn't win the tournament, which is really no surprise!

Saturday Ryan and I spent together in Burley, that was different for us, we just did some shopping, he ran parts, whenever someone would call him (which is all the time....he is always on the phone) He would tell them that "we are just shopping" It sounded so funny coming out of his mouth. I am pretty sure that he has NEVER just gone shopping, EVER. He waited for me to try on clothes and everything, weird I know. Anyway it was a fun day for me!
Sunday was nice, I love Sundays, they are my favorite day of the week, Ryan made a chocolate cake and Bobby and Sara came over and brought Ashley a birthday present. It is so nice to be close, I have said that a hundred times, but it really is fun to live close to family!
Monday was coupon shopping day, I have been stocking up on so many things, Monday was pasta, it was .50 cents a bag, I have a good little supply now. I am really getting into my coupon shopping, hence the reason my blogging is slacking, I spend all my Internet time trying to find good deals. Ashley took this picture of me stocking my new shelves downstairs. ( I have also been slacking in the picture department, I think that is why Ashley was taking pictures, the camera is a permanent fixture in my hands usually, but not this past little while. I am glad Ash is willing to take over for me!)

Then my latest and greatest calling; Enrichment leader, we had our Relief Society Birthday dinner yesterday. Busy week for our Ward.... We had an EXCELLENT lesson on the history of our ward relief society, I loved it. The women were so creative and fun, even back in the old days! What a legacy they have built in our ward of service and compassion. I am grateful to be a part of it! I had lots of help and the dinner went well, I felt really prepared thanks to so many. Sara helped me get all of that food ready and we had a good time experiencing how to make taco salad bowls out of flour tortillas. We had lots of compliments. So I was totally prepared and on time and the kids were all arranged and I thought, how can this all be happening so smoothly, I must be forgetting something, yep, sure enough when I got up to give my talk I realized I had forgot it at home! I found it still in the printer when I got home! Oh well that is another great thing about the women here, they understand and are very forgiving! It was a fun evening and I am glad to be done with it all! Now I have to really focus on Ashley's baptism next Saturday! It is already here! I cant believe it! I better get a move on I have loads of laundry to be put away! Happy days!

Ashley's Lunch date

I went in to the school to have lunch with Ashley today, yesterday there was no school so I went today. She was happy to see me, I usually go alone, but didn't have anywhere for the little kids to go so they came too. Which every time I come alone Ashley and Emma wonder where they are, they miss them when they don't get to come. It was a yummy lunch of chicken strips and tator tots! How fun! The only bad part is Emma doesn't like to stay at school after she sees me she BEGS to come home. I had to talk her into staying, Ash on the other hand didn't even say good bye, she was gone before I knew it, Miss Independent!

Off to the races!

Since Ashley turned 8 she was able to go to her first Achievement days (for 8-12 year old girls). It just happened to be the scouts pinewood derby, so the girls thought they would have a powder puff pinewood derby. It was really fun, Ashley and her friend Shelby ended up winning, they raced each other over and over (about 6 times) and it just kept being a tie! It was so funny! They were quite excited to BOTH be the winners! So the girls fastest car raced the boys fastest car and.....well both girls lost, by a long way to the boys fastest car, but it was really fun for Ashley anyway! What a fun birthday! Ashley with her HSM car!

Shelby and Ashley (Shelby's car was one from Ryan's past that I dug out of my scouting box at the last minute, so funny how it all worked out!)

Before their races, watching the scouts race.

Emma and Justin, couldn't get close enough... Justin LOVED it!

IT's Great to be 8!

Ashley is finally 8! She had a great birthday! It started out with crepes for breakfast, her favorite, and a no school day, lucky girl!

Then she opened a few presents from the family, some fun pet shops to play online with, a HSM 3 dance mat and a new outfit.

Then the highlight, her first birthday party with friends, it was the BEST ever! We painted finger nails first, and then played a few games.

Then we ate;

and blew out candles, we got to busy to even cut the cake....everyone was to full of chocolate dipped strawberries and veggies and dip, no one wanted any after all of that, silly girls!

Then presents from friends;

Then lots of dress ups- Ashley and Emma don't play dress ups very often, or at all, so they were all a little disappointed in our dress up selection, it is all for kids Justin's age, not Ashley's, it was funny to see them wearing dresses around as shirts instead of dresses, oh well, they were giggling with glee anyway!
Fun times and good memories for Ashley!

Finished!

I got Emma's throw blanket done! It took about a week here and there once I finally started working on it. One more step to having her room done. She likes it, which makes it all worth it! And so does Claire!

Sunday afternoon

Ryan made a yummy fudge cake, I think it was called, it was really good, just ask Claire.... MMM....good!

Emma and Ashley went for a walk, Emma found a FEW treasures, I just LOVE these kind of treasures!

Sunday afternoon drive

We drove down to the canyon in Twin Falls on Sunday, the kids beg to go down to "Snake River" and see all the "little things down in the bottom." It is a totally different view from down below. The bridge is AMAZING, you don't know how cool it is until you see it spanning across that canyon, way cool!

The springs that run down off the canyon walls were mostly frozen, it is so cold here! It was actually snowing down there that day, needless to say we didn't get out, Emma was very disappointed that all we did was drive around. Ashley said it was the "most exciting day of her life" they really do beg to go down there every single time we go to Twin.
Ryan did stop when we were back at the top and let Emma get out...now the trip was good, silly girl! I cant wait for the falls to start falling, I think we will go back to see that.
