Back to School Project

I started working on a little quilt project this week.  Rett fell asleep hugging a puppy while I worked on the floor by him.  I had put him in his bassinet and he wouldn’t go to sleep so I brought him out by us and he was out!  I guess we are comfort noise.

 

Justin and Claire were playing right next to him, didn’t bother him a bit.  I did go put him in bed once he was asleep.

And Ash didn’t have any homework so she made some up for herself so studious!  Emma was down stairs playing her own game.

 

Here is the blankie, it has a story and I will post it after this weekend.  I want one for myself, it is fuzzy on the back, it turned out cute, I like the strip quilting.

I need to get some motivation to whip my house into shape.  I haven't been out in the yard at all either.  Ryan turned my water off a week ago to harvest grain and everything is burning up fast.  Hopefully it will be back on today.  My poor yard!  Claire is bored, she has listened to lots of read along stories this morning.  I asked her if she knew where the kids were.  She knew exactly where they were and who was going where after school, not much gets past her, she is our little secretary, well when Ashley isn't home anyway.

Car Seat Tent Cover

I am getting really close to being done with all things baby, I guess he needs to be born and then ALL creating will come to a halt, along with our entire lives…  Today I found this super cute fabric at Walmart, of all places.  I couldn’t wait to get it sewn up into a car seat tent.  I think it will work the “new, old baby” says it will.  That is what she is calling herself today.  She told me she would happily try it out for me.  Then she spent the next 5 minutes crying in the car seat (pretend crying) until I couldn’t stand it anymore!  Poor kid is in for a rude awakening!

 

Check out how big my baby is, she is going to seem like a giant here in a couple of weeks!

Baby Boy Blanket

I have been debating  on making a blankie all together, It seems you can buy them (on sale) for less than I can make them (which was the case).  Then I realized I need just one that I have made for “him”  I wish “he” had a name and then I could use it.  Anyway I have not been at the sewing machine for months and now I have a kink in my neck from being at it for two days!  I did enjoy doing this strip quilt and I just machine quilted it on my machine. 

All of those colors were really scaring me at first but I think it turned out darling.

Claire and Just have both tried it out already.

Ashley and Emma were all over the sewing machine and wanted to do projects.  Ashley is sewing right now (by herself) while I type!  I hope we don't get any sewed up fingers!  They both made cute little tote bags for petshops or tinkerbell toys.  They will have to post them on their blog, AND they can pass off another requirement for Activity Days!

I got Emma's throw blanket done! It took about a week here and there once I finally started working on it. One more step to having her room done. She likes it, which makes it all worth it! And so does Claire!
