Car Seat Tent Cover

I am getting really close to being done with all things baby, I guess he needs to be born and then ALL creating will come to a halt, along with our entire lives…  Today I found this super cute fabric at Walmart, of all places.  I couldn’t wait to get it sewn up into a car seat tent.  I think it will work the “new, old baby” says it will.  That is what she is calling herself today.  She told me she would happily try it out for me.  Then she spent the next 5 minutes crying in the car seat (pretend crying) until I couldn’t stand it anymore!  Poor kid is in for a rude awakening!

Check out how big my baby is, she is going to seem like a giant here in a couple of weeks!

Baby Boy Blanket

I have been debating  on making a blankie all together, It seems you can buy them (on sale) for less than I can make them (which was the case).  Then I realized I need just one that I have made for “him”  I wish “he” had a name and then I could use it.  Anyway I have not been at the sewing machine for months and now I have a kink in my neck from being at it for two days!  I did enjoy doing this strip quilt and I just machine quilted it on my machine.  MAR 2011 00085

All of those colors were really scaring me at first but I think it turned out darling.MAR 2011 00091

Claire and Just have both tried it out already.

Ashley and Emma were all over the sewing machine and wanted to do projects.  Ashley is sewing right now (by herself) while I type!  I hope we don't get any sewed up fingers!  They both made cute little tote bags for petshops or tinkerbell toys.  They will have to post them on their blog, AND they can pass off another requirement for Activity Days!

Baby Blanket Idea

Mom (and others) here is the cute idea I have been wanting to make for the new little brother. I dont know if I will repourpose mens old shirts like she did or just try and find cute plaid/flannel fabrics. I think it is just darling, and not your typical blue baby blankie. I found it at thismamamakesstuff.com, or click on the link below. She has lots of cute ideas.

Fix it Man

Justin is loving his tools lately.  Anytime he gets to go with Ryan he takes his pliers and pocket knife.  I am constantly asking him if I can use his screw driver, he says which one, flathead or phillip.  (not phillips, phillip)  It is pretty fun!  We had a loose screw on the cradle and I volunteered him to crawl underneath it and screw it in, he LOVED that, and did a good job!

Then he wanted to be the photographer for a minute.  I have not let him use my new camera yet so this was tough for me…..

Almost as tough as posting this picture of myself (he took)

He and I make a pretty good team I think!

Then there is this girl:

I’ve Created A Monster!

I have been trying to spoil enjoy my Claire bear a little more these last few months.  I realize how quickly the “baby” grows up when you bring home a new one.  Anyway I have been calling her my baby for months now and she says “I am not your baby, I am a big girl.”   I have tried to tell her over, and over that she IS MY baby and she always will be……well she came out of the boys room with a tiny little diaper on (only one leg, it obviously wouldn't fit both),  Ryan told her to go take the diaper off and get dressed because she is not a baby.  Claire says, “well mommy says I'm a baby”  Oops!  He then told her well then lets give you a bottle and lay you down, she said “OK.”  I’m thinking I might be in trouble here in a couple of weeks!January 2011 00142

Justin on the other hand is pumped to meet his new brother, this is his excited face:

Nesting

FINALLY!!  The nesting has definitely kicked in!  I finally have a little ambition and I am going to try and use it all up in one week!  We have been changing bedrooms, shopping, moving out old living room furniture and lots more.  I can now officially have a baby because I own diapers!  (I am getting ahead of myself, I still have 7 weeks left) BUT, I remember this being so fun to see those tiny little diapers, it was not as fun this time though!  I think the reality of diapers is still too fresh in my mind! Feb 2011 00067

Don't get me wrong I did open the box to examine the tiny little things, but I just don't really want wipeys and diapers in the budget again! (among other things like binkeys, bottles, and all of the other fun things a little baby requires!)

Ryan is already tired of my ambition, he has moved beds, couches, dressers, sheets of plywood, old beds, new beds, cribs, etc, etc.  He would like his lazy not so ambitious wife back!  No, he has been a good sport about it.  We said goodbye to the loveseat this morning,  Feb 2011 00071

Justin and Claire were thrilled to get to take the cushions off and not get in trouble, plus they found lots of  “treasures” in there.  Unfortunately we still need the couch…I hope to have the new one before the baby is born….I hope!  I was a little sad to see it go, I LOVED these couches, the style, I don't know, I just loved them.  I think I may be a little sentimental just because of my current condition, I’m pretty sure I will get over it quickly!

Justin and Claire are wanting crazy pictures taken of them so I obliged;

I hope to get some finished projects posted soon.  Claire's room is turning out DARLING, girls are so fun!

A Baby Gift

We got a visit and gift from my good friend Becky this week, she is also expecting a little boy (one month before us).   I have been sick all week with bronchitis and she was sweet enough to bring us a treat!  I am feeling WAY better now and glad to be back to “normal!”

Boys Room

Here are some of the inspiration pictures, I love this bedding from pottery barn, In the other pictures it has a plaid comforter instead of the stripes (under the star quilt) I hope I can find the plaid instead, (for a duvet cover for a down comforter) I like it a lot better and it will match the crib bedding better and then I will do some plaid panel cutains Im not sure if long curtains in a boys room is a good idea or not, we will see.

I already bought the star CRIB bedding from Target it is blue, I cant get the picture or link to load of it. I am going to set the boys up in Claires room and paint the bottom 3/4 of the walls brown or else a gold color, Im not sure which, I dont want it to be too dark. I will leave the top white. I am going to make Justin this rustic head board from Ana White:
I dont like the whole storage bed, I just want the headboard. Then in two years when the baby needs a big bed I can just build another to match Justins. Its not much but its a start, probably more than you wanted to know! Now I just need some ambition! Actually I think I will wait until the snow is gone and baby is born before I start this all. Now I have to find some ideas for Claires new room.

In Other News

I keep thinking it is time for me to make a BIG announcement and I never get around to doing it, SO before another person sees me in the flesh and says, “I didn't know…..”  We are having another baby!  Baby #5!  Yeah, we are really excited!  I am due April 8, I will be sixteen weeks this Friday but I look more like 6 months pregnant!  I guess the body has a way of remembering what it needs to do unlike my brain!  I feel really excited about this baby, It feels like a first again.  The kids are really excited we read in some of my baby books each week what size “he” is and what things are developing in there.  I think it helps that our kids are getting older and are just as excited as we are.   We are hoping for a “he”  but we would love a “she” too.  Although Justin has already picked out his name!  The girls are insisting on coming to the ultrasound, they hope a little brother will help to keep Justin distracted and away from them, we will see!  It may be another girl for him to torture!  The time is passing really fast, thankfully, that first trimester was like the first baby again too.  I could hardly function, but we are past that and not napping and nauseous everyday anymore, SO happy about that!  We are just getting excited to find out if HE is really a he and that he is healthy!
