Weather

We have had lots of different weather this month.  We have been getting a little rain which almost always produces rainbows!  Doesn’t everyone love rainbows!

Blustery

Our weather has been SO horrible.  And then today it was beautiful!  Imagine that!  We even broke out the flip flops, it was 60 degrees!  I had to take a picture of Justin getting blown in from the bus stop the other day.  It is like a frozen tundra out there!

He looks like this every day, today I picked him up from school (it was 60 degrees) and he still had ALL of his gear on.  I pulled off his glove to hold his hand and it was all sweaty!  Yuck!  He is such a funny boy!

Typical Sunday

We LOVE our day of rest around here, but it only happens truly about once a month that Ryan actually gets to rest.  This Sunday the feed wagon slipped off the canal bank and was tipping over.  Our poor hired guy has a MAJOR lead foot.  He cant drive ANYWHERE slowly and was not paying attention.  Luckily there was minimal damage and Ryan and Bobby spent their Sunday feeding out the load after they got it tipped up right.

It has been POORING rain and so that didn't help either, I didn't go out and Ryan took the pictures and then the batteries went dead, so they aren't that great, but it looks pretty steep!  Justin insisted on going, so I let him, they both came back soaked and muddy!

We checked the rain gauge after they got in it had rained 2 1/4 inches today!  We don't get rain like that in a whole year, let alone one day!  Ryan wont be finishing those beets just yet.

Swim Suit Weather

Claire has been wishing for warmer weather. She wore her swimming suit all day long hoping to get outside in the pool. Poor girl is going to have to move to Florida to find some swimming weather! It has rained for two days here.....which is good for farming, but not so much for swimming!
I had to take this picture, I know there is a picture of Kollin and I just like this with me in my swimsuit on top of jammies. Trish do you have a copy of it?

Past Weeks' Pictures

I slacked a little on the blog this week, but life was still happening around us! We had our first meal at our new table.

The kids got to enjoy the warm weather with cousins, we almost made it to 80 degrees that day! We had some inside rainy/sick days too. Ashley had a trip to the DR. and both girls got a sick day from school. We are all doing better now, must have been that swimming in 78 degree weather? We enjoyed having Ryan around, he got rained out planting beets and potatoes, sometimes we like that though! OK so I like it ALL of the time! The kids went to the book fair and have been reading as fast as they can trying to read ALL of the books in one day! Emma with a couple of new books! (some were from a yard sale we went to this week also) And then we have had lots of exploring: And trying to be outside enjoying the BIG mud puddle, it got dried up so quick after the snow that the kids didn't get to play in it earlier, but it was back from all of the rain! I did get my first freshly picked bouquet of dandelions and my lawn is growing greener and greener with all of that rain! I cant wait to get out there and mow it! Where did those warmer days go?

First Snow

We had our first snow the first of October, it amounted to a couple of inches, the kids had fun because it wasn't very cold, but still cold enough for snow, you can see the leaves haven't even fallen off the trees yet!

Poor Claire Bear was a die-hard, trying to keep up with the big kids! She came in with purple hands, she had gloves on but not very good ones obviously, I had to put her in the shower to warm them up they were so cold and it hurt so bad! poor kid

Yes, It's Been COLD!

It has been cold here, all weekend it was windy and cold. These were from Sunday afternoon, I knew our summery days were just going to zoom away, and they are! The weather is better this week but supposed to get cold again, with rainy wind. Here are some crazy kids:

Piggy back rides! See Ryan is wearing his coat, which really doesn't say much, but it was like in the 50's.

That's A LOT of rain!

When we got home from our trip we had an inch and a half of rain in the rain gauge! I couldn't believe it! It poured while we were gone, unfortunately the hay crop is suffering because of it! How rare for us here in Southern Idaho! But what a blessing still, the reservoir is rising!!

BEAUTIFUL

We have been having "Washington" weather at our house this past week. It has been nice days and then we have a rain storm (sometimes warm rain) come through almost every afternoon. Some storms bring rain, but most just thunder and lightning. It reminds me of home, and it is filling our reservoir so I am just LOVING it! The clouds and all of the colors right now are BEAUTIFUL!

New Callings at Church

So Sunday was a new day for our family. I was called to be the Primary President, hmmm, interesting. I have never pictured myself as the primary pres. I don't know why, but it is a bit of a shocker too me. I already know what it is going to teach me; PATIENCE. You think that I would be a patient person being a mother of 4 and all, but not so. I have a hard time with a lot of kids, I get all frazzled and stuff. But I am really excited too, I have some good counselors, and lots of good teachers to help out so it will be a fun time. Ryan wishes it was him, but no he keeps chugging along in the Elders Quorum, we found out he is the longest EQ President in the history of our ward, that is what I have heard at least, I find it hard to believe, but it has been over 4 years now, so maybe.... I am excited to jump in and get going though, I don't like the feeling of being unorganized, which is what it is and will be until we get a routine worked out, the old Pres. was a natural, so I hope by the time I am done it will seem as though I am a natural, HA HA, I dont know if that will happen! As for my other calling....I guess I was a one hit wonder, surely I will get another chance at Enrichment later on.
We had lots of rain in the night which was nice but it turned to BIG Idaho snow flakes in the morning, the ground was completely covered...again. The girls and I were sad, but it melted by the afternoon, the worst part is that the puddle is back, and bigger than ever, so much fun! At least it is too cold to go out and play in it this time....I think.
Then we had Sunday dinner with Bobby and Sara. It is a much nicer meal when we do it together, I like it. Ryan made milk shakes with snickers and Reese's and then he went out on splits with the missionaries and came home and made cookies. I guess his sweet tooth is as bad, or good as mine.

Spring Weather

We have finally been enjoying some spring weather, the kids got the bikes out of the shed;

and found a mud puddle to play in, luckily it disappeared after only 3 days!

I didn't want to do a whole bunch of laundry that looked like this;
or this, he jumped right into it and soaked himself, why he is walking so funny. Crazy kid, it was warm, but he didn't last very long in only his underoos!

Our Spring weather

Or lack of, I have been jealous of all of the spring weather I have been hearing about around the country and I look out my window and this is what we see here; I do FINALLY have some bare grass showing through, I don't know how something so yucky looking can look so BEAUTIFUL to me right now, but it just looks fabulous! I am really having spring fever! But then you look at the back yard and it is white as far as the eye can see, and deep white too, sob, sob!

I took these about a week ago and it has shrunk down a little more, but pretty much looks the same out both directions. I was happy to find some tulips poking out of the ground, I bet they changed their minds this morning when it was only 1 degree outside, BRRRR.

MUD

The kids went out today to play in the mud. That is pretty much what it came down to. The girls went and got their bikes out of the shed and I think all of the bikes shrunk, because I know my kids didn't grow, haha. Emma rode Ashley's, and Justin is on Emma's. The never ending saga of children growing and growing much too big for last years...everything. I just washed every ones coats, snow pants, and gloves yesterday. I was hoping to put them away for the year, not so I guess. It doesn't look like the end is in sight either, look at all the snow still to melt!! So for now we enjoy the mud, oh the joys of living in the great state of IDAHO!!!
