Ashley is 14!

I cant even believe this!  Ashley has grown up so fast, right before my eyes!  She loves all things books!  It doesn’t matter the type, or the length, she will read it till all hours of the night!  She loves volleyball and piano also, and fits it in when her nose isnt in a book!

I went in to have lunch with her at school, like I have every year since she was in kindie.  She said, oh, Im surprised to see you here.  I am glad she isn’t embarrassed, although she only sat for 5 minutes and then ran off!  Probably to read!  Ashley is great help to me.  She is  hard worker and can do anything I can do.  It is so nice!

Everything she got was too small, except for her dress to wear to the first stake dance.  Then we found out it was casual dress, so she didn’t get to wear it until Sunday!  She doesn’t mind though, she just rolls with whatever. 

Sunday we had her cake and party with the neighbor cousins.  She requested that big old 6 layer rainbow cake.  She doesn’t ask for much, so I figured I better make it!

Ashley and Wynn, Oldest and Youngest, 14 years and 4 months old.  These two are by far my most alike kids.  We call Wynn Ashley’s twin, 14 years later!

Wynn- So Serious!

Wynn isnt really so serious, although he is pretty solemn.  He is just a lot like Ryan, it takes a lot to get him excited, or mad, or sad.  He is just steady.  Which is really nice, except I have to really work at it to get a smile out of him! 

So many people say, I hate to say this, but he is such a pretty baby!  I think the same, he is so pretty, Ashley was really pretty like him also.  We looked at her baby pictures and it looks like Wynn in a dress!  I think they could be twins, and we are ok with that!  We will take another Ashley!

Cheer

Ashley is front left.  They were doing a end of the year dance.  It turned out great!

A Teenager!!

Our sweet Ashley is a teenager!  Thankfully she is still sweet Ashley!  She is pretty low maintenance and a pretty happy girl.  I don’t know what I would do with out her, she is my life saver most days!

And like a typical Friday night, the Elders were over, Elder Kennedy and Elder Slade.  And Emilee.

Last of the Cheer Season

Ashley finished off her cheer season with a dance to the new eye of the tiger. She loves cheer and dance.  She really does well at it.  It has been a fun year!  She is front middle.

Ag Show Pocatello

We really like walking around at the Ag show.  The kids love the big tractors, and Holt Arena.  Ashley took some pictures way up at the top!

Pretty big “tractor show”  that’s what we call it!  We had a great little trip, cant wait to do it again next year!

How Do You Like Your Salad?

I asked Ashley to make a green salad to go with our dinner.  She got one big leaf off the outside of the lettuce and was cutting it up.  I asked if that is all the salad she is going to make.  She is explaining it to me as I am laughing at her idea of a “salad”

Besides, you are the only one who is going to eat it.

She is an ALL KNOWING teenager!  She did add another layer of lettuce to it and put it in a cereal bowl and on the table it went…..yum!?  What a girl!

More Ball

Rett gets pretty tired of sitting at all of these games.  Well he really doesn’t sit at any of them.  He wants to RUN!  This season he has only been out on the court during a game once.  That is a great improvement from last year!  Oh that boy!

Ashley got to bring the ball down in this game, much to her (and my) surprise.  I noticed her in warm ups dribbling really well while being guarded, I was impressed with her improvement and noticed.  But then really noticed in the game when she dribbled it down with pressure on.  Way to go Ashley!

Winner, Winner!

This past summer Ashley and Emma were wanting some school work, so we googled some scholarships that they could work on during the summer.  Ashley wrote one called the Patriots Pen.  She ended up winning for her age group in the magic valley!  We were really excited.  She did a good job!  We got invited to dinner and to watch her give her report to everyone there.  (It was at an Elks club and was sponsored by a  military post).

She got a medallion and cold hard cash!  She was pretty excited!  So were we!

More Cheer and Ball

Another busy Wednesday for Ashley.  First a game, then wardrobe change and cheering for the boys game.  She loves it!

Ashley has a big squad and it sure is fun to watch them all work together.  They do great!

Busy Ashley

Ashley has been in full swing basketball/cheer season.  She loves it.  It has been so much nicer this year only having to go to school 4 days, we have Friday to help re-coup from the week.  Ash is getting so much better at both sports, its fun to watch!

Although sometimes I have to close my eyes…..
