Pre-K

Justin got to go to school this morning!  He was really excited and had a great time!

Claire was hoping to get to go on the bus too, but I made her ride in with me instead.  She did some how manage to get herself tested along with all of the other kids, she just fit right in I guess, although I am not ready to let her go to Kindergarten just yet!

Headed to the bus stop.  Emma had pajama day and Ashley had Idaho History day.  Lots of fun activities for the last week of school!

Sunday Shots

Church was good, the kids were there normal wild selves in Sacrament Meeting.  I missed most of Sunday School because I was feeding Rett and then he was fussy.  He fell asleep though and Relief Society was great.  The lesson was from Elder Christophersons talk about Women.  It was nice to think back on my life of women who have helped me to grow my own Testimony.  I particularly thought of my mom of course and then lots of good Young Women's leaders.  It was a great lesson.

We got home from church and Ashley noticed water spraying everywhere out at the pumps.  The mainline blew apart right at the pump, thankfully she noticed it.  Ryan was in meetings still so I had to figure out how to shut it all off until I could contact some brother in laws who knew what to do.  I should probably already know how to turn things off, and I did, I just didn’t want to wreck anything else!  Anyway, it is a MAJOR breakdown, and will cost a lot of $$$ and time for Ryan.  Just what he needs right now!

We went back into the church for Robbie Schmidt's Eagle Court of Honor.  I went alone with the kids, which they were actually good, Ryan came at the end when his meetings were done.  Claire Bear took a spill off of the retaining wall out in the parking lot.  She landed on her forehead.  She screamed her shrieking scream but recovered quickly.  She did lay down for 3 minutes with a cold wash cloth.  Crazy climber girl!

She was done taking pictures and put up her foot to let me know, ENOUGH MOM!

We somehow ended the evening with a tent in the living room.  I must be the coolest mom on the block! (and the only mom on the block!)  Claire Bear was the one behind this, see I cant keep her down for long!

Who’s is Who’s Grandma?

We are having a SERIOUS debate at our house this morning.  Which blankie belongs to which kid?

103_0801103_0802

I am pretty sure Justin's is the bright one with chickens because we picked the cowboy fabric on the red and gold one at that cute shop while we were at Blue Mountain Lodge. Justin was already born, and I was pregnant with Claire, RIGHT???

Smores

We had our first smores of the season!  Too bad they were indoor, it is still not very warm outside!  We get like one warm day a week.  One day it is just going to be Summer, we will skip Spring all together!

Claire's First Primary Talk

Claire got to give her first talk ever.  She had it all memorized and I recorded it but cant get it to load.  She did excellent at home but acted like a silly monster in Primary.  Go figure!

Her talk said:

I will get baptized when I am 8 years old.  I will take Jesus’ name upon me.  I will try to keep Heavenly Father’s Commandments.  I cant wait to get baptized.

Sundays Shots

Ryan had a speaking assignment yesterday.  His subject was from last Octobers Conference, a talk by Henry B. Eyring about Go and Do.  It turned out good, (I didn’t get to hear it, but I am sure he did fine)

The lessons in church were excellent yesterday.  In Sunday School we talked about a couple of parables, mainly the Prodigal Son, the discussion was really good and made me think a lot about repentance and forgiveness.  What a blessing the Atonement is for all of us!

Of course we had a few break downs on the farm.  Ryan is struggling to get water going and keeping it going.  Then also the axel broke off of the feed wagon.  The cows had been fed, but it is going to take a major fix, hopefully they wont run out of feed before it gets fixed.  I took pictures through the window and it was raining.  (I did NOT want to get out the wind was so strong and it had turned really cold too.)

The wind blew the barn door off also, it was weird and blowing the wrong direction so it really tore things up.

Ryan and the kids played a couple of games Sunday evening.  It is so nice to have Ryan around especially for bed time.  He handles all of the stories and jammies for the little kids.  I have a hard time letting him go back to work Monday morning!

Emma and Ashley were great helpers today.  Ashley was in one of her cleaning moods and cleaned all of the upstairs while Ryan, Rett, and I napped.  Emma helped a little too, and she took some pictures of Rett and I, I didn’t know I was in the pictures though or I would have smiled!

103_0792

Rett is doing excellent sleeping at night.  He has been going for 7 hour stretches, it is GREAT!  I think I can almost consider it all night.  He is getting a little more content, or else we are getting used to his crying?!  No, I think I am getting him figured out and he is getting more used to us.  It is making life much more enjoyable around here.  (the extra sleep helps a lot too).  That was our Sunday pretty much, I LIVE for Sundays they are great!

Popsicle Run

Why is it in the Spring when we get a 70 degree day we think we are going to sweat to death like it is a 90 degree day.  I think it is funny how our minds trick us like that.  Anyway Ryan needed a popsicle, I can see now why,( he had on a black long sleeved shirt).  We got to watch him (and Aaron) poor a little cement block on one of his new systems.

103_0771103_0772103_0773103_0774103_0775

Claire somehow got out of the house with no shoes, imagine that!

Even Rett got out of the car for one of his first trips out on the farm.

103_0776103_0777103_0778

The worst part about the whole thing is I only took one popsicle and we saw at least two other popsicle loving brothers out there.  I am going to have to just pack the cooler full when I do a popsicle run, you never know who is going to need one, or two in my kids case!

Kite Flying

I keep forgetting to buy some kites when we go to the store and I finally remembered yesterday!  Justin and Claire were doing great I just left them out to do their own thing for once,( in the past that would have been hard for a control freak mom like myself, but a 5th baby is teaching me to just let some things go, like $1 kites!)

103_0769103_0770

Well Emma got home and wanted to fly hers too (Ash was on a field trip) and then it all started falling apart.  Justin's got tangled around Claire's and Emma's got caught in the one tree we have in our yard!  They were both crying, but not Claire she just let her kite go up and up.  She was laying down on the tramp just unwinding.  I got Justin and Emma’s put together and then they started crying about Claire going to lose hers.  By now she only had a hold of the string, she completely unwrapped it off of the handle and it was high!  I just let her do it because I wanted Emma and Justin to see how much fun she was having.  Well Claire eventually must have let go and her kite flew to never land.  I could not see it anywhere and no body was outside to see it except Claire so we didn’t know where it went but it is gone forever!  I couldn’t believe it, my little plan backfired.  Now EVERYONE is crying, and Justin and Emma wont fly their kites at all anymore.  How fun is that .  Way to go Mom!

A Day In The Life

These pictures (all taken one afternoon) are kind of random, and such is our life sometimes, well most times!  After Ashley and Emma get home from school we just have non-stop action, until we all crash (well I crash) for bed.

The girls wanted something to take to their teachers for Teach Appreciation week so we went to that awesome eighteen25 blog and found these fun treat jars.

103_0760103_0761

Claire is holding Ashley's, she just has to be in on some of the pictures, well almost ALL of the pictures.  I thought this next one was a funny one, she does EVERYTHING her big sisters (and brother) do.

103_0765

Our next bit of randomness is Emma holding Rett.  This is a daily, couple times a day activity.  She doesn’t ever hold him for long but she begs and begs to hold him and burp him especially.  I finally have let her pick him up but she can not carry him around, nor can anyone else, at least while I am watching!

103_0766103_0767

The weather has finally warmed up enough to get outside, Justin got a little red on the neck, but this picture is not about that.  Can you see what the bad part about having your sandbox under a tree is?

103_0768

Yep, he got pooped on by a bird, he was so sicked out.  He got straight in the tub.  I remember getting pooped on playing in our sandbox in Adrian, there are not many things that are worse in my opinion!  YUCK!

That is just SOME of one days randomness at our house!  We cant wait for summer to have FULL days of randomness!

I thought Summer would like this:  I was talking to Justin about summer getting here and he said Summer who?  (like Summer Freeman), we spend so much time in winter that we don’t know who summer is!
