We went over to Mom’s for a Nielson Christmas. The Freeman’s came down and we all met and had a fun few days. Jen put on a party for New Years. She organized a silly dinner. It was such a fun idea! We loved it! Each item had a funny name and you didn’t know what you were ordering. Claire ended her first course with jello, applesauce, ranch, and a fork!
We loved the party and cant wait to do it again! We had a great holiday season, we are blessed!
We drove over to help see Kurtis off for his mission in Equador. It was fun to have lots of cousins come to Grandma’s. Usually its just us. We also celebrated Claire and Lizzie’s birthdays.

Rett just wants to be outside all the time! The road was busy as usual and Grandma’s yard had equipment in and out working in the corn harvest. I will be glad when Rett is a little more trust worthy to send out alone.

It happened, I really am NOT going to do it again next year. I loath canning. Thankfully mom came along and put up all of the pears.

When we were little it was a treat to go play on the tank in Homedale park. Ever since Mom and Dad moved back the kids have wanted to stop and play. We finally made time this trip. They liked climbing all over it just like I did when I was their age.
Claire has had two rows of teeth in front all summer. The bigger the adult teeth got the more wedged and tight the old baby teeth were. Ryan and I are too whimpy to pull them out. She had an appointment for the dentist and I was just going to let him pull them. Grandma N had other plans. We made a quick trip to her house and out they both came one that evening and the other the next day. Once the first tooth was gone the other one loosened up a lot and pulled right out with the special tooth pulling pliers. Claire didn’t even cry. Brave girl!
We took a quick trip over to grandma’s house to go with Kurtis to the temple. It was a great time.
We are happy to get to make quick trips often!
Mom made a quick trip over this week (so nice that she and we can do that now!!) She and Claire made strawberry jam all morning. Claire was upset with me that I hadn’t taken any pictures of her jam. So she took her own pictures!
Yumm-E! Thanks to Grandma and Claire the freezer is stalked again for another month? Hopefully more like two, this stuff goes so fast at our house!
With our great weather we decided to have a hot dog roast. Mom has a great fire pit in the back yard. Everyone took lots of turns helping with Rett. He of course was not happy to just stay on the grass, he wanted to be in the driveway, headed to the road, kicking car tires, anywhere but safe! Ren took his turn pushing him in the swing.

So Doug had a great idea for the mom’s to have a race, Im not sure where Erica is, she raced too.
Jen won, I strained a muscle, but it was fun.
The oldest grandkids re-enacted a picture from when they were tiny tots, it was fun. They are all getting way to old for my liking!

The weather was fantastic, perfect for spring break!
Mom came and helped me (well she did most of the work) make applesauce. We canned for two days between basketball games. I was sick and tired of it. Thankfully Ryan came along Wednesday night and helped her finish it up.
We figured we did over 100 quarts. It looks pretty and tastes good!
We were excited to get to go to the temple open house. I remember a tiny bit about going when it was originally built and dedicated in the 80’s. I was really excited to take the kids and show them where Dad and I got married. It was a really special experience for us. The temple is beautiful! I love all of the new renovations. It looks fantastic!
Rett was very concerned about Moroni.
Rett was so cute with his little booties on, that is the one thing I remember about going to the temple all those years ago too was those funny booties on my feet.
We had a great time and a great trip to Grandma’s new/old house! It is going to be so nice to have her living so close!
