Farming is in full swing now. Not the best timing to have a new baby….. Ryan is busy running around getting everything running and keeping it going. The beets are all almost planted, which will be nice to have one thing completely done. Potato planting is supposed to start any day and there are tractors going in fields all around 24 hours a day. I thought we were going to have one in our bedroom the other night, since I am up all hours of the night I could hear the tractors running and it was close to the house! It is hard to not be excited about all of the farm work! Ryan is also putting up 3 new pivots this spring, so far only one is standing, he needs to get moving, water should be coming the first of May.
It finally has dried out enough to burn the remains of the corn maze. We enjoyed the excitement of the fire out our back door. The kids ran down to check it out, against their mothers wishes. I just love this time of year, I cant wait to get out in my own yard and garden!
In other news the kids had the day off from school Friday. It was the first time I have had them all home by myself since we brought Rett home. We did fine, the girls are a lot of help and it really was no big deal. We even ventured out for the first time to the school for the book fair. Ryan gave me strict orders and we were only allowed 20 minutes at the school and the baby couldn’t go in. So we obeyed, it worked out fine. Then Sara hauled ALL of the kids down to the Shoshone park. They played for hours and had a great time. She is so ambitious and brave!
We are just staying home today and working on more laundry and Saturday jobs. Emma wanted her picture taken in black and white. She is quite thrilled with herself because she has figured out how to take a good picture. She told me she just keeps her smile on and holds really still until I put the camera down. Isn't that great! 8 years of pictures of her not looking and now she finally figured it out! Yeah for Emma!
