Some Claire Bear Love

I just have some random Claire Bear shots on the camera.  She is just to cute not to take pictures of!

Got to love that under bite!   Poor kid has the “jaw”  She is scheduled to get a “container” (retainer) as she calls it during spring break.  She is so lucky because “I am the only one who gets a container,” and the fun dental work will begin!

She has some lovely self portraits!

What a fun, funny girl.  She is so nice to have around.  I am sad to even think about Kinder next year.  She is the princess at our house.  Emma reminds her every day that she is not the ONLY princess in our house.  Claire really plays the roll well.  “Princess’s don’t have to set the table,” etc, etc.   She is a good girl for the most part though, we love her to pieces!

NEW!

I finally made the trip to Idaho Falls to pick out a bedroom set!  It turned out prettier than it was in the pictures.  I am excited!  We decided to also go back to a queen sized bed too.  For one reason, a king sized bedroom set wasn’t going to fit, and two we just didn’t need the giant bed anymore.

My nightstand piles are now tucked away in drawers, I love it!

004

Also I forgot to post pictures of my new parsons chairs.

005

We are liking them too.  I cant decide if I should go ahead and get four more and not use the benches anymore at all, or what.  It is nice to use benches when we have company with lots of kids, but the chairs are much nicer for everyday use.  I think I will go ahead and buy four more and just pull out the benches when we need them.

I am afraid Rett is going to have to have a new bed also.  He has been threatening to climb out of the crib and last night he did it and fell on his head.  He isn’t even 2.  2 year olds need to be in cribs.  I don’t know what to do, well I just don’t want to do what I am going to have to do!  I am ready to do some spring cleaning.  I hope I can stay motivated to get it all done!

Sunday Shots

Are we back to normal??  We had a blurry week, I think.  Tyler and Lain brought their kids to stay with us for 3 days.  It was wild and crazy, but we survived.  They went to watch their school play at the state tournaments.  Tyler is the principal and athletic director.  They had a good time.

The kids have been sick this week too.  Justin stayed home Monday and Tuesday so I took him to the Dr. to have him tested for strep, he just had a fever and bad sore throat.  He was fine the next day.  Then Claire started with it and now Rett has it.  He is not a good patient either!  His poor mouth (throat) is so sore tonight, but his fever is gone.  I hope we have a decent night tonight.  I stayed home from Sunday School and Sacrament, and met Ryan in the parking lot so I could teach Relief Society.  It worked out ok.  I was sad to miss church.

We went for a windy cold walk this afternoon.

We enjoyed our day together.  Ryan is going to start shipping cut seed on Tuesday.  At least it means spring is on the way!

Ski Trip To Soldier

The School kids had the annual ski trip.  We went up to Fairfield to Soldier Mountain.  I was worried there wasn’t going to be any snow, there was a little.  We could see patches of grass up on top though.  We need more snow!  Ryan has his Canal board meeting so he had to drive up and meet us.  I was nervous to be trying to help the girls when I can barely ski myself.  They had instructions (Emma had it all morning) and then we tore up the bunny hill all day long!  It was great!

DSC00527

It didn’t take Ash long to remember how to do it, we had a pretty good instructor, but she still didn’t want to go up the mountain.  I was happy to not let her go up the mountain, I am still not very comfortable with it myself!  So we went down the bunny hill over,

and over,

and over!

Emma pretty much only had one speed, straight down fast!  Serena is following right behind!

The weather was so warm!  It made the snow slushy and slow, which I liked!  We are a little sunburned and sore, but ready to go back tomorrow!

State Capital Tour

After the Pen we went over to the State Capital.  It has been remodeled recently and is beautiful.  Our tour guide had everyone lay on the floor and look up.

This is where the House of Representatives meet.  I was happy to learn so much about the government.  It was really educational for me.

Coolest part, Emma got to sit in Governor Butch Otters chair and desk.  This was my favorite part of the tour!

We had a great trip and a fun time together.  Grandma Telford kept Rett and Claire.  It was a nice day for us.

Emma’s Trip to The Old State Pen

Emma’s class and the 8th graders got to go on a field trip this week.  We went to the Old Idaho State Penitentiary.  I must admit it was pretty creepy!  (they say it is haunted)  Which I could believe, it was scary, the kids loved it!  Emma is front and almost center, black coat, hot pink pants.

They headed right to jail first thing!

DSC00452

It was all quite fascinating, just really creepy.  They had a lot of riots throughout the years and a few of the buildings were burned, and it eventually was closed after 100 years.

Emma and a few friends in our group.

Do we make good prisoners?  I hope not I didn’t want to stay there!

DSC00484DSC00485DSC00494

I couldn’t believe the size of the jail cells.  They were big enough for a small bed, which hung on the wall (bunks) and a toilet and sink.  That was it.  Back then prison was really prison!  Solitary confinement was totally dark with not heat or cooling.  Men actually died in them.  We were happy to get out of there and move on to the state capital.

Fruit Anyone?

Emma washed and cut up some fruit for dinner, Rett proceeded to dump it ALL on his own plate!

Bowling!

Saturday we were so happy to NOT have to go to basketball that we wanted to have friends over and go bowling!  It was a fun time!

Pretty Girl.

Rett was asleep when we got there, but didn’t last long.  I spent most of the time chasing.  He only ran down the lane and fell flat on his back once.  I watched him a little closer after that!

018

It was  a fun winter outing we are going to miss in a few more weeks when Ryan is going and going!
