Kids School Christmas Parties

I was pretty much too busy running from class to class to take many pictures, but the kids had a great time.  I forgot Rett’s stroller so I wasn’t much help as a room mom, anywhere!  I love the class parties but by the time they are done I am tired from all of the running!

Tiger School Christmas Program

Justin’s Kindergarten class sang Frosty the Snowman so he had to wear his boots and gloves.

Even the police man came and “stopped” them!

Ashley’s class sang It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year, she is in the green jacket. ( I took horrible pictures this year!)

Emma’s class sang I’m Getting’ Notin’ for Christmas.  She had told me that she had a main part, but I didn’t really think anything of it.  Well they sang the song and then at the end she took the microphone and sang a solo!  I had no idea she was singing a solo!  She did great, her voice was clear and pretty!  It was really out of character for her, she sings very quiet and does not like to be in the spotlight, we were excited for her!

She had a “black eye”

This poor kid cant stand to sit, he wanted to crawl away all night! and he has a nice little boogie up his nose!

Santa’s Lap

The kids got to visit with Santa after the school Christmas program.  They all still like to sit on Santa’s lap.  Claire started asking for a doll house the week before Christmas, I just love it when they do this!

Ash first asked for a new deck for her mom, what a thoughtful girl, then Santa asked well what do YOU want?  She said 20 questions the game.

Little Brother

I cant resist this little brother,  He is turning into his busy big brother, much to my dismay, one busy boy is enough!

Crying one second, happy the next!  I know I have pictures just like these of Justin….somewhere.

Sunday Shots: No Heat, Again!

Our poor church building keeps having heat problems so we only stayed for a short Sacrament Meeting.  We were out by 10:30.  The report was it was 50 degrees in the chapel!  It felt like it too!  Ryan had called me before I came in so we brought lots of blankets and coats and gloves.  It was still cold!  SO we came home early and Ryan got to come home too.  We had the Sutters over for dinner  which was really fun.  I made my first cheese ball EVER!  I thought only “fancy” people made cheese balls, Ryan told me that I AM fancy, Emma said we cant be fancy because we live on a farm.  Oh dear!

Ash and Dad worked on some indexing.  Justin figured out that my phone has games on it.

Emma and Claire tried to read the friend on the ipad.

12 Days of Service

Our family is in desperate need to do some service.  We are really good about helping out our friends, cousins, teachers, strangers, etc. but we don’t want to help each other, imagine that!  SO  being the super smart Mom that I am came up with a plan.  We are doing 12 days of service to each other.  Not to friends, or cousins, to our sisters and brothers!  I have seen lots of ideas on pinterest that involve candy and treats and all these fun rewards, but I think we just might miss the point of serving if we are only doing it to get a candy!   Last night was our first trial run, it started rough, like as in “what is service Mom?”  Oh dear I have really failed them!  So after a little crash course in service we were off and running!  I want to record what things I am seing done around our home over the next 12 days, the kids are supposed to do their service without saying anything so I might miss a few things but I am really excited already!

Justin washed Emma’s calf feeding bucket out for her and cleaned Claire’s room.

Ashley and Claire cleaned Emma’s room (which was a HUGE job) Emma was so mad and banging on her door wondering why Ash went in and locked it.  I reminded her about our little service project and she said OH, I forgot…..  See we are totally not used to someone doing something nice for no reason.

Emma made Claire’s bed.

I wrote a love note to Justin.

Ryan made me start exercising again.  He has consented to exercise with me though, I don’t know how long he will last doing the Biggest Loser workouts.  (and I thought I was uncoordinated!)  HA!

So it wasn’t all smooth and easy, and I am sure like most things I am going to have to do a LOT of reminding, which is fine, we are just learning.  I really hope that they will learn 1- that they love each other, and 2- that they don’t always have to be rewarded for doing good.  I am hoping to have a “merrier” house at this Merry time!

Cousins Party

Jaci, Tayson, and Kaleb came over for a minute to bring birthday presents.  It wasn’t really a party because we were leaving for the night, but it is ALWAYS a party when cousins are involved!

Emma got a LaLa Loopsy and Justin got a John Deere skid steer, it was AWESOME!

Thank you cousins!

Winner, Winner, Lobster Dinner!

Ashley won the bike from being bus rider of the week.  Our bus driver keeps track of riders of the week, and they get their names in a drawing, and she won!  It was for last years bus riding.

It couldn’t have come at a better time, Ryan ran over her bike, and she had a yard sale bike that was a big pile of junk.  She is totally deserving, I don’t think there is a better behaved kid either (well in my opinion at least!)  Yeah Ash!

Make A Wish, Justin!

We had a Thomas cake for Justin’s birthday.  It looked a lot more like cake baked in bread pans than a train, but it did have some cool oreo wheels that made it a train, and it was blue, so it totally looked like Thomas and his coaches Annie and Clarabell!
