What Do You Do?

What do you do when your head is too big to pull on your favorite shirt?

Bored?

Typically the oldest child at home gets bored when the other kids start back to school.  Not Claire Bear though.  She can entertain herself for hours, which makes for lots of good messes and three year old silliness!  Yesterday she did some dress ups in Retts Halloween costume.

103_1070103_1071103_1072

Today she told me to come to the door cause she had a surprise for me, she just laid the hose right up into the house while I screamed!

103_1073103_1074

She doesn’t need any help at all from me she got her own swim suit on and headed out to water the flowers, but mostly the house and sidewalk.  I don’t do any entertaining with her at all…..now Rett is another story!

Rett and Paxton

Sicily and Paxton came over to our house the other day while their Mom was picking corn so we got a chance to compare little boys.  Rett is 5 months Paxton is almost 3 months.  They were just identical in almost everything.  Their feet were the same size.

Their bodies were the same, they even felt like they weighed the same, but thankfully we grow BIG heads so we could beat him on something!

103_1064103_1065

Paxton was the best baby ever, he did not even try to cry, he just was happy and smiley the whole time, I could not believe it.  Paige says he is really mellow and happy all the time, how fortunate.  I guess we have him beat on crying too!  No it really will be fun to have cousins the same age!  Emma was just in heaven with two babies around, but she did say twins would NOT be fun!  I think I agree at this stage anyway!

Rett is 5 Months

Rett is growing so fast, I cant believe 5 months have already rolled by.  He is getting to my favorite stage too.  I love it when my babies can sit up, but cant crawl around and get into everything.  He can sit for a few seconds but then tips forward which is opposite of the other kids, they always fell back.  He also likes to be on his tummy which is different too, he rolls on his tummy and then stays there, he can roll back but doesn’t very often.  He is really chattering too, Justin never said a word until he was almost two so this is different for us also.  I just love his blonde hair, he sleeps like a champ, he still isn't the most content baby, but he is not a cry baby anymore, thankfully!  He likes to snuggle and I just love that, as long as I am holding him he is just happy as can be!  He always has his mouth open, Ryan says he is a Nielson.  I know Kollin always had his mouth open, and every time Ryan says something about it mine is hanging open too, I guess he may be right?!

Sunday Shots: Paxton and Madelyn Blessings

We spent Saturday night and Sunday in Arco.  Mark and Paige blessed Paxton

103_1059

and Jared and Jenna blessed Madelyn, ( I didn’t get a picture of them)   It was a fun day to have two new babies blessed.  My pictures were sporadic, we had to leave to go back to Carey for some church meetings so I just snapped a few.

Cody and Whitny holding Madelyn.  Cody purposed to Whitny on Saturday, we are so excited for them!

We had a great time and had a hard time trying to leave them all to come home.  We were glad to get to see everyone!

Camping

We had a rough night of camping.  I guess I just didn’t prepare well enough, and we didn’t communicate good enough.   I didn’t realize we would have no heat out in the wilderness so I didn’t bother to pack much bedding and we froze all night.  Apparently you only have full A/C and heat when you are plugged in.  I didn’t know that, mistake #1.  We had Justin and Emma in our bed by morning.  Claire and Ash were snuggled in one bed and finally got warm and Rett never made a peep, he was the only one who had the right bedding and he was wrapped tight in his snuggly so he was toasty warm.  Anyway it was an adventure we dropped the trailer off of the jack twice and couldn’t get it stabilized before dark so we slept on a major slope, hence the reason all the bedding wouldn’t stay on  anyone.  Ryan had been having the same kind of luck at work that day, everything he touched broke down and I guess it followed us to the mountains too!  We did get everything running and got warm in the morning.  We wont forget this trip anytime soon!

Ryan took a picture of me getting everything cleaned back up, I wish he would have warned me, oh well!

We saw this huge bull moose driving up, he was right out in a hay field eating his dinner!

We were happy to have a quick trip anyway, we should be starting harvest next week so all of the fun will be done.

Justin’s School Work

It is always hard when I break the news to my kindergartners that we cant keep EVERY SINGLE PAPER they bring home.  But we can take pictures of them and put them on the blog.  I may have to keep this piece of art work though.  Justin painted our house.  He did such a good job, yellow with a red door, just like it looks.

103_1035

I’m still not used to him going to school yet.  He isn’t either.  He asks me when I tuck him in every night what we are going to do in the morning, I proceed to tell him and then we realize that is not what he is going to do, he is going to school.  SAD!  He is loving it though, so I cant help but love it too!  Thank goodness I have Claire and Rett still at home!

Camping Preview

We had to run up to move the camper into a good camping spot for the weekend so we thought we would take a wiener roast with us.  I wish we could have just stayed the night but not with school today so we will go back up tonight to stay.

103_1037

My baby is such a doll face;

103_1038

He is sucking his thumb more and more, I forgot to bring a binkie, I cant keep forgetting it or he is going to be thumb sucker for sure.  It is easier to take away a binkie than a thumb!

103_1041

He kept trying to get out of the stroller, he almost ended up on the dirty ground twice just by arching his back and wiggling.  Everyone was mad at me for not buckling him in.  I did have him buckled, but then I couldn’t keep him warm so I unbuckled him.  He is a wiggle worm!

103_1042

The kids hiked around a little bit.

103_1039

We roasted hotdogs and marshmallows.

103_1040

Ryan read them a story, Ashley loves stories, Ryan would get up to move from the smoke, Ash would follow right behind not to miss a word!  She is such a bookie!

103_1043

Then we headed home.  We got home late (for a school night) and had to get up early to shower everyone.  Emma wanted to go to school smelling like smoke so she could prove she went camping.  I said I don’t think so, why don’t you just tell your friends you went camping, they will believe you.  This morning we are washing all of the sheets because everyone went to bed dirty.  Sometimes I wonder is camping really worth all the work and mess?

Claire’s Prayers

We have been trying to get the kids to say more meaningful prayers, well we have been trying since they could talk, anyway, Claire has finally caught on and has the best prayers lately.  Today at lunch she blessed that, we cant fight, the house could be cleaned, Dad would be safe working, no police could pull us over, and that we could play all day.  I said a big AMEN to that prayer!103_1034

Really Claire?

At least she is learning to share…right??
