It rained! We were so excited to have rain that we went out in it until the lightning got to close.
It was raining with the sun shining it was a warm Washington like rain. We got just over a half inch, thankfully because the lightning was so bad I’m sure we would have had lots of new fires if we wouldn’t have had the rain with it. It was so refreshing, and just what we have been needing!
On the way home from Washington Rett fell asleep right after we got a hamburger. Emma has waited his WHOLE life for him to fall asleep eating. She loves it when babies do that and he never has, until now!
Emma’s laugh was the best, it would wake Rett up just enough to make him giggle and smile too and then he was back asleep. We were all laughing at our tired little brother!
I couldn’t resist taking a spin on Bode’s awesome motorcycle. Once Emma saw that I could do it she was determined to do it too. She did really well, pretty fun ride!
Justin burned up lots of miles on that super fun four wheeler!
Summer even tried it out for a short ride.

Mom and Dad are trying to get rid of stuff that doesn’t need to be moved so I went through my stash of STUFF that was left at home. It was fun to look at all of the old stuff, but I didn’t need to bring it home with me either so I took some pictures and tossed it! How about a box of old corsages from proms and homecomings.
Old letters from old friends…. and a few old boyfriends.
Some interesting old clothes and shoes, really I loved these ugly old shoes…. oh dear!
It was fun to look at it all and the kids each got to pick a “treasure” to keep, I’m such an old softy!
While we were out at the pool we walked down to the bluff to look at the river. It is always and amazing view. The nature trail is still there to hike down on.
Oh brother Ash,
We haven’t made enough trips to Grandma’s house in the summer for the kids to ever get to swim in the pool. They were all so excited to get to go every day we were there. Justin and Claire were super brave in the deep end.
The girls loved the slide.

Rett just wanted to be in that water. He would not stay away from the edge. We brought the pack n play the rest of the days to keep little brother from jumping in too!
So many fun memories out at the pool.
We have been wanting to go to Grandma’s house this whole month and never had a few free days in a row until last week. So I loaded up the kids and we went to Washington! Ashley is so much help taking care of the kids while I drive that it is really like having another adult in the car. She is great. Everyone traveled well. We actually got to drive from Ontario on with Mom and Dad, so that helped too.
We got right into it right when we got there, kids in costumes;
And out in the garden with Grandpa. There is always lots to do!
Ashley and Emma had their Summer recital. It was a long time coming, the girls have practiced a duet from Pride and Prejudice called the Ash Grove. They did really well despite all the weeping and whaling that went on every time they practiced! They both also got to do a duet with their awesome piano teacher, she really is the best!
Emma got to wear her pink sneakers with her dress, we thought she looked pretty cute!
Most of the students, we had to hold the recital at the church because we have outgrown Margaret’s house!

It turned out great as always!
Rett is making the BEST tractor sounds now. I think all of the boy sound effects are pretty fun. He loves Justin’s trucks, tractors, and can make a really good moooo sound too!
He also is really good at saying cheese. He discovered I was taking his picture and loves to see it on the camera after. I have him well trained!
We got our “summer” calves. They are all healthy and doing good. I love this chore for the kids, it is hard work, but kids can do it, just perfect! We moved them out to the coral which I love.
Claire always has some divalitous outfit on! I am going to have a hard time convincing her that I pick the outfits around here, now that summer is over!
Little brother just cruises around like he owns the place! Gotta love the jammies with sandals! He loves chore time because he gets to go outside too!
Emma’s calf always jumps out the little window and chases her around, he likes his mommy.
