The girls finished up the year with a Christmas Recital. They did well (we could have practiced a LOT more) but it went ok. They are really improving in piano! Ashley has been playing in Young Women’s every once in a while. I am so happy for them to be pianist!

Ashley and Emma had their Summer recital. It was a long time coming, the girls have practiced a duet from Pride and Prejudice called the Ash Grove. They did really well despite all the weeping and whaling that went on every time they practiced! They both also got to do a duet with their awesome piano teacher, she really is the best!
Emma got to wear her pink sneakers with her dress, we thought she looked pretty cute!
Most of the students, we had to hold the recital at the church because we have outgrown Margaret’s house!

At the last minute Ashley wanted to enter the annual talent show at the school. I told her if she called the lady in charge and asked her she could. So Ashley called her up and got herself and Emma entered in. They are so lucky they just have a talent handy all the time with their piano playing skills. Both girls practiced each of their favorite songs as of lately and did really good.

Ashley was the first act of the night. She did really good, just a little nervous.
This was a two hour talent show, it got LONG after a while and Emma was the second to last talent. She did really great and won third place in the instrument division. Imagine that!
We had a fun night after trying to convince Ash that she did a great job too. I told her “she who pounds the hardest wins.” Which is what Emma did. Emma played a Spanish song and pedaled the entire song. Ashley’s was much more soft and flowy. She said she wished I would have told her that BEFORE the talent show! It was a great time. They both are getting better than their Mom at piano, which isn't hard to do, but they are amazing me!
Ashley and Emma had their fall piano recital, they both did really well. The theme was Rags, Jazz, and Blues. We just love Margaret, she is such a talented teacher, we feel fortunate to have her!
The girls have a recital coming up and have been practicing quite a bit. Emma is getting really good, she can practice so fast it is amazing!

Ashley and Emma had their piano recital this week. They both did really well. This was Emmas first one and she had all three of her pieces memorized, she did great. Ashley did good too, she had hers memorized also but was to nervous she would forget them, sounds like her mother. I didn’t do good taking pictures and I was going to take some at the end but I didn’t. This is Emma behind the piano:
Ashley and I had our piano recital this month. It was fun and we were glad we could stop practicing like mad!

Ashley and I participated in a really fun Christmas recital. Just the two of us went over and had a yummy breakfast and then just got to listen to and play a bunch of Christmas music. It was really low key and just a fun party! It reminded me of a party you would see on TV, fun music was playing when we walked in, even some children were dancing, lots of people were congregated in the kitchen, it was like a picture! Sister Ward is an EXCELLENT host and party thrower! We had a fantastic time! Ashley played Up On The House Top,
and then Away in A Manger a duet with me. 
Then I played Deck The Halls a duet with Sister Ward, and Joy To the World.

Ashley had her first piano recital on Monday night. She did a good job on different piece then what she had been planning to do......life doesn't always go as planned! She did pretty good anyway. It was fun to see her excitement, all the kids excitement for her. Emma prayed for her to do good in every prayer for the last couple of days! It was a fun evening.
