A Day In The Life

These pictures (all taken one afternoon) are kind of random, and such is our life sometimes, well most times!  After Ashley and Emma get home from school we just have non-stop action, until we all crash (well I crash) for bed. 

The girls wanted something to take to their teachers for Teach Appreciation week so we went to that awesome eighteen25 blog and found these fun treat jars.

Claire is holding Ashley's, she just has to be in on some of the pictures, well almost ALL of the pictures.  I thought this next one was a funny one, she does EVERYTHING her big sisters (and brother) do.

Our next bit of randomness is Emma holding Rett.  This is a daily, couple times a day activity.  She doesn’t ever hold him for long but she begs and begs to hold him and burp him especially.  I finally have let her pick him up but she can not carry him around, nor can anyone else, at least while I am watching!

The weather has finally warmed up enough to get outside, Justin got a little red on the neck, but this picture is not about that.  Can you see what the bad part about having your sandbox under a tree is?   

Yep, he got pooped on by a bird, he was so sicked out.  He got straight in the tub.  I remember getting pooped on playing in our sandbox in Adrian, there are not many things that are worse in my opinion!  YUCK!

That is just SOME of one days randomness at our house!  We cant wait for summer to have FULL days of randomness! 

I thought Summer would like this:  I was talking to Justin about summer getting here and he said Summer who?  (like Summer Freeman), we spend so much time in winter that we don’t know who summer is! 

10 Pounder

Rett had a doctors appointment yesterday and he weighed 10 pounds 6 ounces!  He is getting some chunk on him.  Well Telford style anyway, I have yet to really have a rolly polly baby, maybe this time though? 

 

He looks so big in this last one, I didn’t realize until I saw this picture, he is looking more like a baby rather than a tiny newborn.

I just LOVE his blonde hair, I always thought I would only have blondes, but when you marry someone with DARK hair, you don’t get blondes, till now at least!  He is getting so big!

Alphabet Game

Claire was playing with her alphabet cards and started laying them  out in order, all by herself.  Justin caught on and together they finished.  They were laughing so hard it was quite cute to see them have fun together.

I have been trying to put him in the middle of whatever we are doing and he seems to be content for a while.  BUT he is still definitely FUSSY!  I just hope he outgrows it, SOON!

Mothers Day and Stuff

We had a great Mothers Day here.  The kids showered me with all sorts of potted flowers, seedlings, cookies and nice cards.  I really appreciate their teachers doing all of that for so many Moms, it is nice!  We had Ryan's family come to our house for Sunday dinner, it was nice, I managed to take pictures of the food, but none of any people.  I wonder what is most important to me?

 

Sara made these cream puffs, they looked like they were out of a magazine, but tasted better!  It was a great day!

I went to a baby shower this weekend also and made a couple of flower head bands and had to have Rett model them.  There is just something about it that doesn’t look as cute as a little girl!

Yeah, It doesn’t go, he is definitely a boy!  (I hope Ryan doesn’t see these)

Emma’s Fruit Fizzies

For a Science project (I guess) Emma’s class made fruit Fizzies and Emma brought home the recipe for us to try.  She didn’t help make them, but she helped eat them!  And Ash of course was in her daily bath { (another teanageism she HAS to shower, wash face, etc, etc,OFTEN already)  I remember those days of getting up at 5:30 AM to shower EVERYDAY before school, every hair had to be IN PLACE……but I was in Jr. High not elementary school!  She isn't quite that bad, it is kind of nice that she cares and doesn’t have to be reminded anymore to bathe though.}

Emma’s recipe:

this is a single serving:

1/4 C. berries, 1/4 C. orange juice, 1/4 C. Sprite.  We added ice to make it a smoothie and blended it all in the blender.  It was sour, I should have added some sugar well for Ryan’s anyway, I LOVE sour!

Finally A Spring Day!

The weather finally cooperated long enough for a Spring picnic.  This is always a big milestone and first signs of warmer weather.  This year it came a lot later than normal, but we are just glad it came at all!  It was really bright we had to wear our sunglasses.

It was even warm enough (and not windy) so we could bring Rett out.  He was actually really good and just drifted in and out of sleep the whole time we were outside.

I uncovered him for a bit to let him get some real sunshine!  He was sweating under that blankie (Grandma Nielson made, and he is wearing a cute outfit from Aunt Erica) 

The missing cat, he was back for our picnic.

Of course we think it is swim suit weather the first day the wind doesn’t blow.  (it was only 65 degrees, it did get above 70 though)

Yeah, not as warm as he thought it was going to be!

Claire was a little smarter than Just, she just watered the flowers.

The red head got a sunburn, I cant stand how easily she burns, I just feel sick about it.  I am going to have to make her go in long sleeves (and pants,hats,shoes) all summer.  She asked me to put sunscreen on before she went out, I told her if we stay out very long I will put some on you.  We didn’t stay out very long at all, but long enough for a fair skinned red head.  I am dreading this summer already, I cant keep her covered enough, last summer she wore SPF 85 and still burned, I am not going to have her burnt all summer again, I would love any ideas from you sensitive skinned friends!

Baby Pictures

Justin and Rett at 1 month, I thought Rett had chubby cheeks, he doesn't look chubby at all compared to Justin!

 

 

I had to include one of Claire Bear at one month too, she had some major chubby cheeks too, OH girls are so cute!  Look at that cute dress!

Piano Recital

Ashley and Emma had their piano recital this week.  They both did really well.  This was Emmas first one and she had all three of her pieces memorized, she did great.  Ashley did good too, she had hers memorized also but was to nervous she would forget them, sounds like her mother.  I didn’t do good taking pictures and I was going to take some at the end but I didn’t.  This is Emma behind the piano:

Rett is One Month Old!

It has been a blurry month, but he is finally one month old today!  He is growing so big already!  He is a good sleeper, he just needs to do more of it in the night!  We have been venturing out a little more and it has been hard, we prefer to just stay home!  I don’t have any stats for him, next week I will have him weighed and measured but I can tell by his little round tummy that he is growing bigger and bigger!  He has started smiling just a little bit too, the kids love it!  Here is my attempt at one month pictures, not very good!

Mr. Fussy pants, I wondered what his nick name would be before he was born, I was not thinking fussy, he is by far my most fussy baby, which is frustrating!  I told him if he wanted all of this attention he should have been born first, not 5th!  He didn’t listen.  He is definitely already a Mammas boy!

Sunday Pictures

Some how we managed to be ready for church early enough  to take pictures in our Easter clothes.  (Last week was Stake Conference and I kept Claire and Rett home so we didn’t take pictures then)  It was nice to all get to church together as a family again, I have missed Sunday worship.  

Justin was thrilled to get to match with someone, FINALLY he has waited 5 long years for this little brother!
