First Day of Junior High

Ashley didn’t make it too far after her first day.  She slept every day after school for the first week.  She only took a short nap, and then was ready to go again.  It has been quite overwhelming for her.  She wants to do her best and that takes a lot of work, she will get in a grove soon, I hope, before semesters change would be the best…..

First Day 2013

I wish every school day was as easy to get up as the first day is!  The kids all hopped out of bed, did their chores and were WAITING on the bus.  That NEVER happens to us!  Except the first day I guess!  The girls were all really excited, Justin was pretty nervous, he gets nervous every year.  He does fine once he gets there and gets busy and he did this year too.  He really wanted to go to work with Ryan this morning though.

Claire FINALLY going to Kinder.  She is sure she is the oldest Kindergartener and the ONLY one who knows how to read.  She didn’t need my help to go to school at all….. she told me so!

Justin is headed into 2nd grade!  Wow time is really flying!

If Emma gets any prettier we may have to not let her out of the house!  She is going to 5th grade this year!

Rett and I are having a quiet morning folding laundry and wondering what we will do with all of our time alone!  I am so glad I have him at home still!

Filer 5K

I ran my second race this summer.  It was a small fund raiser for a children’s hospital.  I was glad to get another chance at it and improved my time by a couple of minutes.  I finished about 6th in the women and had a time of 31.09.  I was really most excited to be able to run the entire race!  Ryan took me down and I knew I couldn’t walk or he would be disappointed so I trudged on!  It felt great…. afterwards!

Ryan was really worried with my take off because I was the LAST person, even behind the walkers.  I don’t know when I passed them all, but I must have somewhere along the coarse because I came in before they all did.  I guess I was just in the zone, that’s one thing I really love about running is it is such and individual thing, it doesn’t matter who you pass or what place I come in, I just want to improve myself.  It’s great!

Back To School Fashion Show

After all that school shopping we had our fashion show.  It turned out great.  The kids all look good and are ready for school to start!

Grain Harvest

The grain harvest was a little bleak in Richfield this year.  We only had about 6 weeks of water which didn’t make only one cutting of hay and some pretty light grain.  We were thankful to have a crop at all, but are hoping for a better water year next season.

Bee Stings

Rett got about 6 bee/wasp stings this summer.  A couple he stepped on, one he picked up the rest just got him.  We had lots of bees because there was no water around except near our house so they just swarmed especially around the back door.  Thankfully he isnt allergic.  He did get a chubby hand though.

Justin got one too on his hand but wouldn’t let me take a picture of his chubby hand, but it sure felt funny to him!

Girls Weekend

I got to go to Utah for a weekend with my high school friends.  We stayed with Liz at her new place the first night.  She is a fantastic hostess and has a beautiful new home.

We spent most of our time shopping, and eating, and talking and laughing.  I love that we can just pick up where we left off, never missing a beat. 

I wanted to shop in World Market, these four just wanted to hang out.  So they found a comfy spot and laughed and giggled. 

We had a great time, cant wait until next year girls!

Cousins

We had Alaina come to town so we had to have a sleep over.  I was outside and came in to find this train of girls doing hair.

Ward Campout

This year our ward decided to have a camping trip.  We went up to Camp Manapou.  It is north of Sun Valley.  We had a great time.  Ryan was able to come and go so he could work in the day and be with us at night.  It worked out great.  The kids had a fun time.  Brother Tree brought his four wheeler and let everyone have “rides”

We had some crafting and games during the day.  There were lots and lots of kids there.

It really was a great time.  Ashley got sick the last night and threw up.  That was not a fun experience with not showers….  It was a rough night.  The weather was perfect in the day but freezing in the night.  We survived though and hope to do it again next year!
