Rett loves excavating!  I will not be one bit surprised if he doesn’t own his own construction company when he grows up!

April Fools!

I wanted to really fool the kids this year, it turned out more fun than fools, which was great for us!

The red koolaid is Jello, so it is not going to come up the straw!

Rett was really confused!

The pink “cupcakes” for dinner were meat loaf topped with pink frosting.  The kids liked them!

I frosted a balloon in chocolate frosting and then went into the school for Ashleys sports banquet.  Emma was babysitting and she called me feeling really upset and sad.  While she wasn’t watching Rett climbed on the counter and licked off the frosting exposing the trick!  She thought I would be mad that they found out it was a balloon.  We all just laughed, except Justin, he really wanted a piece of chocolate cake!

The Girls

Ashley is trying to claim the driver seat whenever I let her.  She is growing up way too fast!

Emma’s insides!  She did this project in school and it hung on the wall for a few days, she was pretty proud of herself.

Mudroom Flooring

Im loving my mudroom done!  We moved out the freezer so I have lots more room for laundry!  It really has been nice.  Again I forgot to take an after picture….  If it didn’t have mounds of laundry in it I would probably take one!

We had a week of chaos, we had the laundry in the kitchen and no doors on the bathrooms.  We even went half a day with no toilet at all.  That was fun!  The funniest was having the missionaries over.  Elder Kennedy wanted to use the bathroom and I told him we had no doors.  So he had to lock our bedroom door and then go into our bathroom if he wanted any privacy!  Poor guy!  Thankfully Ryan got doors installed after a few late nights.

Bathrooms/mudroom Construction

We finally got our new flooring in for the bathrooms and mudroom, so we went to work.

Both bathrooms got fresh paint, Ryan was so happy to see the kids blue bathroom go, he never liked that blue color!

 

 

The new vanities came in:

We hired the flooring installed, it was hard for us to see a crumby job done.  Ryan wished he had time to do it himself.  It turned out fine, Ryan is just a perfectionist and wanted it done perfect, not just fine.  I guess I just wanted it done!

 

And I never took an after picture of the kids bathroom, maybe because it still isnt finished???  I havent got the lighting and new mirrors in.  We cant seem to ever finish a project!   This is our little bathroom.  We are enjoying it.  I am glad I didn’t put black granite in the kids bathroom though.  It is a pain to keep looking nice.

No more 1970’s vinyl!  Overall we are pleased, not finished, but pleased!

Working Date

Sometimes I just get tired of not seeing Ryan!  So Rett and I loaded up and went to work!  It was a good day to be together.

Odds

Rett loves to water, I finally had to put a baby door knob lock on the faucet to get him to stop running water everywhere.  He quickly figured out how to get the water on even with the lock…..

Im pretty sure I have the greenest sidewalk in town!

Quick Trip to WYO

The kids and I drove to Wyoming for Renton’s baptism.  It was fun to play with cousins!

We swam and swam at the hotel in the desert.

One of the McDonalds had saddles for chairs!  That was pretty neat!

Claire packed the lipstick!

It was good to get back home too! 

Little Excavators

I had these three boys one morning, they watched the neighbors excavate their new pipeline.  They thought it was great!  Rett enjoyed them working for a few weeks!  He LOVES all equipment!
