Craters of the Moon
We spent Saturday at The Craters of the Moon. It was interesting, there were some caves to climb down in and lots of fun trails to hike around. We just spent the day checking it all out. The BIG kids, Ashley, Brooke and Kegan. (Each family had their own camo colored t-shirts, it was nice to help keep track of all of the group).
Ryan and Claire, our family had pink camo, Ryan looks so good in pink I think!!! We had so much fun!!!

Ashley wasn't to sure about the whole snake thing, she stayed back.

Telford Family Vacation
We just got back from 4 days of camping with the Telford Family. We had a great time. Lots of fun activities and playing with cousins. We camped up at High 5, above the Little Wood Reservoir. It is the same place we went camping over the 4th of July. It was a great get away, I am very glad to be home, I can only stand to be filthy dirty for so many days!! Ryan and Justin riding Charlie, Justin with no shoes, how he spent most of the trip, I cant keep shoes on that kid, EVER!
Ashley and Emma, this must have been the first day because they look clean still.
Justin listening to stories around the campfire. We got sooooo many mosquito bites, poor kids.
Ashley fell asleep at the campfire the last night, they played so hard with all of their cousins, they slept good every night!

Kileys having a GIRL!!!!
Don't these boys look like they need a baby sister!! These are Kiley's men, Jason, Ryder, and Kache, now she is getting a girl to help out the ratio at their house!!
I cant wait, she is scheduled to have her on Friday, we will be in the mountains so I will have to drive out to get phone service so I can find out how things are going. I have been making some hair bows for the baby blessing, I actually get to go to Nebraska for it. I am excited to see their very REMOTE ranch that they live and work on. I cant wait for that either! Anyway in making her white hair bows, I made a few more for my girls, they are so fun to work on.

Gardening
We have been working in the garden this morning, I am trying to get it weeded and watered really good before we leave. It is growing really well, but I am afraid it is not growing fast enough. I planted so late, because I was worried I wouldn't have time to take care of it, I didn't want to plant it at all, but I am glad we did.(I have to say we because Ashley planted most of the seeds, she loves to garden). We have harvested radishes and some lettuce. I hope it will stay alive while we are gone. I have Ryan's guys lined out to water it for me, I am sure they will do a good job. The kids LOVE working in the garden. It is so fun to move the water down the rows and build dams and learn what Indian soap is, Claire also got her first mouthful of dirt, yummy, yummy! I have such fond memories of gardening with my mom, I loved to walk in the dirt behind her while she rototilled, it was so soft and cool. I hope my kids will have fond memories of gardening too. I have finally got smart and had Ryan put a fence around it. I lost all of my corn crop last year because of the neighbors cows! I just LOVE living in cattle country!!!
What great helpers!!! This is actually one of my favorite things to do with all of the kids! I love the Summer!!!

What we have been up to..
We have been up to a whole lot of nothing. I think it is the calm before the storm. We are getting ready to go on our camping extravaganza! We go on Thursday, stay for a couple days, come home for a day or two and then back again. Then we will be home for a week, (during that time we are going to the Temple Open House here in Twin Falls, We can wait!!) Then we are going to Washington for a week and then my 10 year class reunion is that weekend (Aug 8-9). I am excited for all of this, I just wish it could have been a little more spread out over the summer. We will take what we can get though. So we have been trying to stay on top of the house work so we can come home to a clean house, when we finally do come home, and also getting packed for non stop family reunion type fun! The kids can hardly stand to wait another day, they are quite disappointed tonight because they thought we were leaving in the morning and we aren't going until Thursday, bummer! Ryan made a lot of progress on the shed to day, it is pretty much all sheeted except the roof, he will do that tomorrow. It is looking good. We went to Home Depot last night at like 8:00, (we like to do things in the dark) we drove the pickup so we could put in all of the plywood, well it took ALL of the room leaving no room for all of the camping groceries, anyway we were stuffed in that pickup, it wasn't fun. I cant wait for the new pickup to arrive, it will be much more roomy and actually fit us all.
Justin and his sliver, he wouldn't let anyone get it out, he was going to "snap" it out with the tweezers. Ryan had to get it out after he went to sleep.
Justin's new Diego bike, it isn't really Diego, we were shopping for a Diego bike but I didn't want to afford one, and I also didn't want one that needed batteries, so we were calling this one his Diego bike. Ryan asked "how do you get Diego out of this bike" I said it just is, cant you tell. Justin thinks he is pretty cool and is always doing "flips" on it. Fun, Fun!!
These pictures were all the same day, this kid changes clothes like the girls, I hope this phase doesn't last long, I get tired of changing his clothes for him, he needs to learn how to change his own soon!

Construction Zone
The back yard is looking like a construction zone this week. Ryan has been working hard on the shed. On Tuesday the concrete was poured, it turned out really good. We have a friend who knows how to poor concrete and he came and helped Ryan get it all done. It was quite a hard job, Ryan didn't think it would take very long, but it pretty much took all day. He has already started framing and has one part on the front, where the door goes left to put up. He has been taking a lot of time to think and figure it all out. I look out the window at him and he is just standing there staring at it, thinking. He is so smart, I couldn't ever figure out something like that. He has been consulting with Cody on the engineering of the whole thing, (since Cody is at BYUI, majoring in engineering). I asked him if Cody was his engineer, he said "No I am the engineer, I am just consulting with Cody" I think he didn't want Cody to get credit for all of his hard work! It is coming right along anyway.
We had a BBQ and played on Wednesday also, It was fun to have our dads at play day, that doesn't usually happen. We didn't get to play with the dads, but we at least got to watch them work. It was a fun, busy day!
Serena, Claire, Erica, Clay, Ashley, Maleah, Emma, and Justin. This was after our fun day, they were leaving and I realized I hadn't taken one picture of all of our fun playing so I made them all pose for this one. Cute kids!!

Emmas photoshoot
Our Grandma Telford has written a children's book and Emma is the little girl that is going to be in it. She chose Emma to do the book because of her MANY facial expressions. We tried to capture some good ones for the artist to paint for the book. She wasn't as good at "faking" being surprised, or mad, or happy, so it was harder then we thought to get some good shots, but here are just a few of Emma being Emma. PS Stay tuned to find out when and where you can buy Grandmas new Book, it is so cute!! Emma with antlers
