Carrot Top

This Baby Girl is still SOOOOO Red head! I cant believe it, it is still shocking to me every day when I see her. She is such a beautiful baby! She is still so good and is happy just to be here. She is not crawling, but she can sure get around, she just rolls to what ever she wants. I find her under the piano bench, and couches quite frequently. She is such a BLESSING!!

Camping continued

Here are a couple more pictures from the 4th
Emma on the steep trail at the reservoir

Justin drinking his soda, I think this is all he "ate" the whole trip. He loves his soda pop!

Justin making friends with the worms, he kept talking to them and saying, "nice worms," I had to finally take them away when he started to try and kiss them, YUCK!

Before we left Ryan was checking water, (we are always checking water) anyway he found some polly wogs out in a pond and put them in a cup for the kids to see. They were BIG and were growing their legs already, very creepy, in my opinion. Anyway we had to drive for about an hour to get to the campground and Emma insisted that she got to hold the poly wogs and she was crying about not getting a chance to hold them and see them, so I told her she could put them in her cup holder by her seat until we got to Carey where we could dump them back in the water. Well she lasted about 3 minutes and then they started to get to creepy for Emma. She was crying because they were to close to her and they were so gross! Poor Emma, she is crazy! So Ashley had to keep them on her side until we could find a ditch to poor them back into. She couldn't relax until those things were out of the car! It was so funny!

Camping

For the 4th of July we went camping. It was a quick, but super fun trip. We have only gone once before with only our family and that was last year on the 4th, it is kind of becoming a tradition, I guess. We just had a great time, the kids loved fishing and exploring and roasting everything in sight! We went up to the Little Wood reservoir and it was all full of campers so we went a little further to a camp ground called Hi Fi (I think that's what it is called) Anyway we are going there for the Telford family Vacation in two weeks. That should be fun. I was glad we could go and scope it out, hopefully we will get a good spot when we go again. Here are some pictures of our fun trip! The kids hanging out in the tent. Justin had to use a barbie sleeping bag, he didn't mind this time, It really helps to have his tractor blankie and pillow! Hopefully it will work for him all summer, I'm pretty sure it wont work for next summer!

My cutie Claire!

Sitting around the campfire, with no fire I just noticed, we did have a fire, it must have been going out for the night??? They all fought over Justin's red camp chair, nobody wanted to sit in the BABY chairs...

At the reservoir fishing, it was really steep and not very kid friendly, but we did catch LOTSA fish!

Justin trying it out

Fishing

On Thursday we took the kids and went fishing south of town. It was fun, we didn't catch anything, except this:and really, it caught Ryan. Their were TONS of dragon flies and they wouldn't leave Ryan alone, It was kind of funny!

Wedding invites

We finally got the announcements for Jared and Jenna's wedding all done!! They turned out so GOOD! I told Jenna I would do all of the invitations for Jared's side, I didn't know what I was getting myself into, we tied and stuffed 250 invites! I have had them tied for about a month now, but I didn't have the picture in, or them put into envelopes, but now they are. Ashley helped put the pictures in, she is such a perfectionist, she does better then me on most things like that. Her help made it so much faster! Jenna told me I had until the 4 of July to get them done, so I guess we made it in the nick of time, I am such a procrastinator!! We were glad to have a fun project though! They make such a cute couple!!!

Justin's new boots

Justin got new boots yesterday. We went to Shoshone to go swimming and so we ran down to Jerome to D&B, they were having there 20% off of clothing and boots, so we have waited until the sale to get new boots. His old boots are a size seven, so I thought I would get him a size 8 boots, of course they didn't have any 8's in the ones we wanted, but the lady wanted me to measure his feet and make sure he couldn't wear the 9's. Good thing we measured because he needed size 9's!!! Poor kid, no wonder why his 7's were so hard to get on!! He is loving his new boots and wears them around every where, most often with his shorts, it is the latest in summer fashion!! Yes, they are on the wrong feet....most of the time!

I also got all of the kids new work gloves, which they are loving, Emma especially because now she can go out and play with the kitties with her gloves on and she doesn't have to come in and wash her hands!! So handy!! She was so mad when I told her she had to wash, she said,"but mom" and shook her gloves at me. I told her gloves keep dirt out, but not germs. Anyway it has been cute to see them all running around outside in the 90 degree weather with their gloves on, well all but Justin, I spent 5 minutes getting his gloves on and he walks out side, down the stairs and back up the stairs, and throws them in the door and says "don't want these." I was so excited to get a pair that would actually fit him, but he wont wear them, but he sure likes to wear them tucked in his back pocket, oh well....

An EXPLOSION on the farm

Last night when Ryan was checking his water he saw the potato pivot stopped....again, it was already dark and like 10:30 at night so he just shut everything off for the night. He went out to the pivot point to turn it off and he heard a big rumbling and then in the dark he saw the big tank coming at him! It exploded this big tank and water went every where and made a HUGE mess. Luckily it didn't hit Ryan, but it did scare him! So here is a picture of the morning after, I didn't get up early enough to see it before he dug it out and got all of the water out, (yes I do like to sleep in till 7:30 occasionally) the guy is welding the pump (I think that is what he is welding) back together and the big metal tank is laying in the back ground, it was standing up where he is welding, before it exploded, it is like 15 feet tall so it is big. We are glad everything is OK and the water is back on.

The kids checking out the wreckage, and trying hard not to look at the "Fireworks" (the welding sparks)

Creating...

Yesterday we had an Enrichment activity, it is just a monthly thing where we take any of our sewing projects and all get together and sew, sew, sew. Last month I didn't take a project, I just went and visited with all of the other ladies who did bring a project, it was nice. But this time I was going to take Claire's blanket that I started before she was born and still haven't finished, Anyway I went and got it out and the top was all done! I guess Mom sewed it when she came when Claire was born. I remembered talking about her sewing it, but I didn't remember ever seeing her sewing it, apparently I was out of it that week. So that took that idea for a project, but the kids had picked some fabric for me to make a couple of blankies for them, as if we needed more, (really you can never have too many blankies, at least not at our house!) So I got the tops of them all pieced together, keep in mind that they picked their own fabrics!:Emma's is the black w/ pink polk a dots and Dora (she informed me it is not Dora fabric though, it is Unicorn fabric, Dora is riding a unicorn, I guess we are finally out growing Dora) Justin's is CARS and Thomas, he couldn't decide on which one, so we just mixed it up. Ashley's is Super girl and pink camo fabric. They should be fun anyway, when I get them finished that is.

So while we were sewing we had Strawberry lemonade, one of my most favorite drinks of all time, especially summer. I had already tried some strawberry limeade earlier in the week that was really good and last night I made some, but today I made the BEST ever Strawberry Lemonade, it was so cool and refreshing, just look at it:
before blending it
After Blending it
the recipe is: 1cup of whole strawberries, 1 tray of ice cubes, 1 pkg of koolaide lemonade, 2/3 cup sugar and 1-1/2 quarts of water. I'm not real sure on the water, I just pored it in until it tasted right. It was kind of a smoothie and it really hit the spot!

Ryan has been projecting around the house, as if he doesn't have enough work to do on the farm... He is building a shed for our pump, so it will be a pump house/shed/tack room/lawn mower garage. It is going to be 20x10, do you think it will fit all of that? We will see. He has just torn down the old pump house and has the ground level and ready for gravel and then concrete to be poured next Wednesday. It is coming right a long, I cant wait because this means we can tear down the old farm stead house that is currently housing all of the stuff listed above! Here is a picture of what it currently looks like:

We had some young bulls get out at the dairy last night so we went to help put them away, well some of us helped, others played...
Emma in a pile of itchy hay!

Family night....on Tuesday?

I am not complaining, at least it happened! We don't always seem to get family night on the "right" night. Mondays are always a crazy day for us and this week was no exception. Ashley taught a great lesson. Her Primary teacher taught it to them at church and then sent a copy home with each child. Ashley had it all written down and did such a good job. We were taking "steps" to follow the Savior and His plan, leading up to Baptism. She is such a good girl, and she is getting so big and mature. I am grateful for that, but also sad that she isn't a baby anymore. Emma said the opening prayer, I had the music, Ryan had the treats, and Justin did the game. We played red rover and bubble gum, bubble gum. We had a good night! Justin taking the steps
Claire trying to step
Emma's turn
Ashley made each one of us get up and walk on the little foot prints

Playing Bubble Gum, it came down to Ryan and Claire and Ryan rigged it so he beat the baby, you think he would let her win, but oh no, he was to competitive!!

All that Laundry...

I had to post the pictures of the kids in all of that "wonderful" laundry! Emma is crying because she wasn't covered enough, we cry over anything and EVERYTHING at our house is seems like! Claire knows it is time to smile when the camera comes out, she is such a cutie! Justin wont look at the camera anymore for pictures, so from here on out we will only be seing picutes of the side of his head, or the back. I just love these fun phases!! (lets hope its just a phase!)
