Ryan and I went to Coeur d’ Alene this week for some farm meetings. We had a nice time. It was quick, but then not quick enough! Everything was great except Rettster the monster! He just does NOT sleep anywhere but his own bed. He flies great, and is just happy and fine during the day, but then the night he turns into something else! It didn’t help that he had to sleep in this horrible crib with no bumper pad. He would bonk his head and wake up all night long! Anyway here was our fun suite at the Resort.
We didn’t get a lake view, we had a view of the cruise boats though and some water. I have always wanted to take a dinner cruise, but they were not running while we were there, it might have been a bit too cold to enjoy anyway!
The first morning that we were there the alarms went off and we had to evacuate the hotel. We hurried as fast as we could, good thing it was a false alarm because we were really slow! I had to go out with my hair up in a towel, and Rett didn’t have pants on! We had him all wrapped up in a blankie though. At that time we took a little stroll on the board walk, not for very long, but until we got to cold!
Ryan’s meetings started at noon so we went with him and then met Mikaela after lunch. She carted me all around Coeur d’ Alene and we did lots of talking and a little shopping. I love that we can always just pick up where we left off last. She is a great friend to me and always will be! I think the only time we ever didn’t like each other was before we knew each other in sixth grade, do you remember that Mikaela? After that it was all over though, we have been best friends ever since! I also got to spend a little time at their home and see Mckay and Charles too before she brought me back to the resort.
That night Ryan and I went to the reception and dinner. Ryan visited I strolled around with my little date. He fussed through most of the meals also, imagine that! I should have left him at Mikaela’s house where he would have been content just to crawl around.
Our cool stripey curtains opened with a remote! That was super cool for Ryan!
Good thing this little bugger is cute! He continuously bonked his head on EVERYTHING! He got two bad ones, I am glad it didn’t break the skin or we would have had to get stiches!
One good thing is he learned to crawl on his hands and knees because the marble floor was so cold. He still prefers his army crawl but he did figure it out finally!
The last day we were up bright and early thanks to Rett so we went to breakfast with Ryan and then did some more shopping in the cute little shops around the resort. Mikaela showed me some really cute places and we had a great time just walking and visiting. Rett slept the ENTIRE morning in the stroller, can you believe that!
Ryan finished his meetings up at noon and we had time to shop a little more before our flight home. It was a really fun trip. I would love to go back in the summer, but I can imagine it is full of tourists then, but really pretty also. It was a fun change from the Davenport Hotel, but I think I like the Davenport better. I’m excited to see where the meetings will be held next year. Rett has slept all night every night that we have been home….imagine that!
