Neighbor Grandma and Grandpa

I always have a hard time coming up with something productive for us to do when we are out of school so many days before Christmas.  We can only clean so much, at least that is what the kids tell me!  We went up to see Grandma Violet and Bill Coffey and take their Christmas presents up.

We love having them so close, we also love to just pop in on them and spend a couple of hours.  It is always a fun visit.

Bill Coffey is 89!

And going STRONG! He just installed a chin up bar in the kitchen and does chin ups every morning...seriously! We are so fortunate to have such great "adopted" grandparents! We love having them live so close! That cake was SO good!
Lots of "real" grand kids, and a few adopted ones too! What a wonderful celebration for a GREAT Grandpa!

Flag Pole, Phase 1

Our very best neighbor Grandpa Bill Coffey is building me a flag pole. He came this morning to install the base of it. It is going to be 40 feet tall! Wowsers, I am really excited! (I am pretty sure I am going to need a bigger flag!) He pounded and pounded with a really heavy sledge hammer and got it in really deep and good so hopefully it will hold up the pole that he is making! This man is amazing, he is 88 years old!! He is one tough grandpa!! And we LOVE him! I cant wait to FINALLY have a flag pole. We are really making some BIG additions to the yard this summer. Cant wait for the new grass to start growing too......I guess I better get it planted first!!
