Rett the 12 year old

Rett has been such a big help this summer to me and dad. He has been number one spray rig operator. He is learning to drive and take care of all the animals. Also moving the pasture lines. He also found out the hard way you can’t put diesel in a gas motor. Even if the gas tank is empty, he knew the gas tank at the house was out so he had to use diesel. Good thing dad knows how to fix everything according to Wynn and that we have a few neighbors to pick him up and drive him home when he is far away and broken down! He’s been so quick to do whatever we ask, I admit I do take advantage of his willingness. If you can ask a kid and have them complain, or ask a boy and have him jump up and go with a smile, you ask him a lot more! He is becoming a great boy and farmer! 

 

Wynns Surgery

 Wynn had to have a little surgery on the 5th. He has communicating hydrocele which means he had a little hole the size of a quarter that needed closed up to prevent a hernia later. He did really great with the surgery. It was at primary children’s hospital. The nurses and doctors were really great to him. He disliked the socks the most!

All he wanted was KFC when he finally got to eat!

The nurse said he woke up with a smile! He is a smiley boy!

Really fun anesthesiologist Dr Shoblum took Wynn back to surgery.  Debra Jacobsen did the surgery on Wynn  

He wasn’t a fan of the pjs, but the square socks were the worst! 

He was pretty nervous but very brave! Glad it is over now! 

First Taste

Wynn got his first taste of home grown farm fresh MUD! 

Although he is smiling, he did not like it and was spitting and gagging, until I gave him a drink.  He has officially been initiated into the farm life!

Ashley's Wheels

Ryan has been great at taking Ashley to seminary every single morning, bright and early!  This morning Ashley got to arrive in style!  

Ryan had delivered silage to the neighbor dairy the night before and took Ashley in on his way to work down on the farm.  Good thing Ashley loves this farm life!

For Ryan:  the new 2016 Ross 40' silage trailer was purchased brand new in December.

Window Watcher

Wynn loves to look out the back doors and see who or what is going on.  Justin and Rett were taking a evening ride on the motorcycle.  

Im afraid Wynn will be riding along this summer.  

MVP

Justin finished his basketball season.  We were sad.  He loves it and so did I!  He was voted MVP by his teammates!

The Ride Home From Church

This is seriously the day in the life of us!  Our kids are so busy and loud and fighting and playing, and silly and mean and on and on.  Ryan and I just look at each other and grin or cry or laugh or all of the above.  

Disclaimer: Usually all the littles are buckled, this was an exceptionally wild day.... ugh 

Laundry

We are enjoying our new laundry room, some more than others!  My cabinets are full of Claire bear paraphernalia!  She has moved right in, and her sidekick follows along!

The Mop

Wynn just loves dragging the mop around, I dont know what his fascination is but it keeps him happy for a long time!  Funny boy!

Our Cheerleader

Ash is becoming quite the cheerleader.  I dont know how she stands it really, she is so brave!

She has had some really great experiences this past month.  She has cheered for district tournaments and even got to cheer in the Idaho Center for the girls State Championship game!  She loved it!

Justin's Basketball

Justin had his last game against Dietrich.  It was a losing season, unfortunately.  We ALMOST won, but lost.  The hi light of the game was getting to play against Jace Ward.  He and Justin go way back!  They are still good buddies and got to go toe to toe against each other.

It was pretty evenly matched, I think Justin was better at defense, but Jace could make the shots!

Justin also played against Jerick.  They really liked that!

This video was just a sample of how the game went. Justin did not have his best game, not by a long shot, but he was aggressive! 

Snow Plowing

We had a lot of snow this winter.  It was kind of miserable for the most part.  Ryan brought over the little blue tractor and cleaned and cleaned.  Rett rode along and of course immediately fell asleep.  Tractors have that effect on little boys!

Glad for the snow!  Hopefully it means a full reservoir this summer!

Blue and Gold

We had a baked potato bar for the Scout blue and gold banquet. Guess who donated 100 spuds!  Yep, US!  We even fit them all into our own oven.  Much to Rett's dismay he helped me wash, wrap, and load them in.  Wynn watched.

Justin received his Bear award that night and was quite pleased with himself.  

We are definitely not good scouters, but learning and trying our best!

Invaders

We had a major rabbit invasion into our haystacks this winter.  Ryan loves any chance he gets to use his gun and he, Justin, and Ashley mad quick work of the bunnies.  After all the little grey bunnies were dead the big white snowshoes moved in, it was interesting??  Ashley really wanted to skin and dissect one so they did.

  
 Emma and I watched from up here, until we saw too much, then we quit watching at all!

Claire was brave and got in on as much as she could!

I think they hope to have it tanned.  Ryan is good at doing kid things that I would never entertain!

Gamers

Rett and I do our best to take a break from the TV and play a game.  He is pretty good, and can occasionally beat his mom at most of the games we play.  If he didnt win once in a while he wouldn't play!  I have been loving our days together.  He is getting so big and mature, and even sweet once in a while!

Claire's Haircut

Claire has been wanting her hair really short so she wont have to brush it!  The poor thing has misserably curly hair!  I finally took her to get it cut and she is happy (ish) .  Much to her dismay she still has to brush it!!!!  

HATS!

I have tried to get Wynn to like hats, at least tolerate one since it is winter!  He will NOT!  Then one day we were in target and I put this funny monster hat on him and he loved it!  He thinks he is pretty cool stuff!

What a funny boy.  He does like hats now??  I dont know why the switch, but I like it!

THAT sidewalk!

I got sick and tired of not having a sidewalk so I scraped and shoveled until I couldn't any more and made this much progress.....  not much!

Justin came home from school and Tayson came over to visit and those two got busy! Scary busy!

They made quick work of it and now I have a sidewalk again!  Good work for boys!

Rett's DISappointment

Rett really wanted a turn at the dentist.  We were waiting in the car for Ashley while she had her orthodontics check up.  I love my boy!
